We are seeking a dynamic and result-oriented Area Sales Manager (ASM) to manage the sales operations of generic pharmaceutical products in the assigned territory. The ASM will be responsible for leading a team of Sales Managers, driving primary and secondary sales, building strong relationships with stockists, chemists, and healthcare professionals, and ensuring effective market penetration of the company's generic product portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales & Revenue Generation:
Achieve sales targets (monthly/quarterly/annual) for the assigned area.
Drive both primary (from company to distributor) and secondary (from Generic distributor to retailer/chemist) sales.
Ensure regular availability of products across stockists, chemists, and retailers.
Team Management:
Recruit, train, and manage a team of Sales Managers.
Conduct joint fieldwork with MRs to ensure effective customer engagement.
Review performance of team members and motivate them to meet goals.
Market Development:
Expand coverage in untapped or under-penetrated areas.
Strengthen relationships with stockists, chemists, doctors, and hospitals.
Identify potential new customers and business opportunities.
Distribution & Stockist Management:
Ensure smooth coordination with Generic distributors/stockists for product availability and order fulfilment.
Monitor inventory levels, outstanding payments, and product movement at distributor/stockist level.
Reporting & Compliance:
Submit daily, weekly, and monthly sales reports.
Track competitor activities and market trends.
Ensure adherence to company policies and ethical standards.
Key Requirements:
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Science, Pharmacy, or any graduate discipline. (Science/Pharma preferred)
Experience:
3-6 years of experience in pharmaceutical sales, with at least 1-2 years in generic pharma as an ASM or Senior MR.
Skills:
In-depth knowledge of generic pharma market dynamics.
Strong leadership and team-handling capabilities.
Good communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
Familiarity with stockist/channel management.
Other Requirements:
Willingness to travel extensively within the territory.
Own two-wheeler (if required for field operations).
