: AREA MANAGER Spice Trade
Position Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and result oriented Sales Officer to join our Spice Trade team. In this role, you will drive sales of premium spices, herbs, and blends to wholesalers, retailers, and distributors in the international spice trade market. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the spice industry, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to build lasting client relationships. This position reports to the Sales Manager and offers opportunities for growth in a fastpaced, global trade environment.
Key Responsibilities
Prospect and Acquire New Clients: Identify and target potential buyers in the food, retail, and hospitality sectors, including importers, exporters, and culinary businesses, to expand market reach.
Manage Sales Pipeline: Develop and execute sales strategies to meet or exceed quarterly and annual targets, focusing on volume, revenue, and profitability in spice products.
Build and Maintain Relationships: Cultivate longterm partnerships with key accounts, providing tailored solutions for spice sourcing, blending, and supply chain needs.
Market Analysis and Reporting: Conduct market research on spice trends, competitor pricing, and global trade regulations; prepare detailed sales reports, forecasts, and performance metrics using CRM tools.
Product Promotion: Collaborate with marketing to promote spice portfolios at trade shows, industry events, and through digital channels; demonstrate product knowledge to educate clients on quality, origin, and applications.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with supply chain and operations teams to ensure timely delivery and quality control; mentor junior sales staff as needed.
Customer Support: Address client inquiries, resolve issues related to orders or product specifications, and upsell complementary spice products to maximize order value.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in.
2-5 years of proven sales experience, preferably in the spice, food commodities, or FMCG trade sector.
Strong understanding of international spice trade dynamics, including sourcing from regions like India, Vietnam, or Indonesia, and knowledge of supply chain logistics.
Familiarity with food industry regulations, quality assurance, and sustainable sourcing practices.
A keen interest in spices, culinary trends, and flavor profiles to effectively pitch products.
