Objective
:
To lead and manage the sales operations of the FMCG product range across Odisha by driving secondary and primary sales, managing distributor and retailer networks, and ensuring consistent market penetration and growth.
Key Responsibilities
:1.
Sales Target Achievement
Drive and achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets across all districts of Odisha.
Monitor primary and secondary sales to ensure distributor performance and retail uptake.
Plan and execute territory-wise sales strategies.
2.
Distribution Management
Appoint, manage, and review performance of distributors and stockists across the state.
Ensure proper stock availability and timely replenishment.
Negotiate trade margins and schemes with distributors and retailers.
3.
Retail & Market Expansion
Increase retail footprint across urban, semi-urban, and rural areas.
Identify and onboard new retailers and modern trade partners.
Conduct regular market visits and retail audits to ensure availability, visibility, and freshness of stock.
4.
Team Management
Recruit, train, and manage a team of Sales Officers (SO), Territory Sales Executives (TSE), and field representatives.
Set clear KPIs for team members and monitor performance through regular reviews and market visits.
Motivate and coach the team to achieve field execution excellence.
5.
Trade Marketing & Promotion
Plan and implement BTL (Below-the-Line) activities like in-shop branding, sampling, retailer contests, and trade schemes.
Work with the marketing team to launch and promote new products in the market.
6.
Reporting & Analysis
Submit regular reports on sales performance, market trends, competitor activities, and challenges.
Use sales data and analytics tools to identify gaps and take corrective actions.
Maintain MIS and documentation related to sales operations.
7.
Customer Relationship Management
Build strong relationships with key retailers, distributors, and wholesalers.
Handle escalations and ensure resolution of customer/distributor complaints.
Qualifications and Skills
:
Graduate (preferably in Business, Marketing, or related field);
Minimum 5 years of experience in FMCG sales, with at least 2 years in a managerial role handling a region or state.
Strong understanding of the Odisha FMCG market and consumer behavior.
Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills.
Proficient in MS Office, and report generation.
Willingness to travel extensively across the state.
