Position Overview

The Area Sales Manager - Neuro-Oncology is responsible for achieving monthly, cycle-wise, and annual sales targets for the oncology portfolio focused on neuro-oncology. The role requires strategic engagement with medical oncologists, neurosurgeons, radiologists, and key hospital stakeholders to drive product adoption, influence treatment protocols, secure formulary listings, and expand market presence in key institutions.


Key Responsibilities

1.

Territory & Business Management




Develop and implement strategic business plans tailored to assigned hospitals and institutions. Identify key accounts and growth opportunities within the territory. Regularly track, analyse, and review sales performance against defined targets.

2.

Customer Engagement & Scientific Promotion




Build and sustain strong professional relationships with key healthcare providers including oncologists, neurosurgeons, radiologists, and other stakeholders. Conduct scientific product presentations, round table meetings, CMEs, and discussions to support evidence-based promotion. Provide accurate, up-to-date, on-label product information to support prescribing behavior and formulary access.

3.

Sales Execution & Monitoring




Execute daily call plans and engage with targeted healthcare professionals. Ensure optimal utilization of promotional tools and marketing materials in alignment with brand strategy. Monitor prescription trends and measure business impact effectively.

4.

Cross-functional Collaboration




Collaborate with institutional/key account teams to support product listings and approvals within hospitals. Share competitive intelligence, field insights, and customer feedback with marketing and strategy teams.

5.

Compliance & Reporting




Adhere to ethical standards, company policies, and all applicable regulatory and compliance requirements. Report adverse drug reactions (ADRs) and product complaints in accordance with pharmacovigilance guidelines. Ensure timely and accurate reporting of field activities, sales performance, and expenses.

Candidate Profile

Education




Bachelor//'s degree in Science (B.Sc. or B.Pharm preferred)

Experience




Minimum 5 years of pharmaceutical sales experience Proven track record of success in handling institutional/corporate/government hospital business Prior experience in oncology or critical care therapy areas is strongly preferred

Key Skills & Knowledge

Deep understanding of pharmaceutical sales practices and hospital dynamics Excellent selling, negotiation, and scientific communication skills Competence in managing key accounts and engaging key opinion leaders (KOLs)
