We are looking for a proactive and results-driven Area Sales Manager to join our FMCG sales team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for achieving sales targets, building strong relationships with retailers/distributors, and expanding market presence.
Key Responsibilities:
Onboarding the brand in modern trade in Mumbai and Pune.
Leading a sales team across general trade and other marketplaces.
Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for the assigned territory.
Develop and maintain relationships with retailers, wholesalers, and distributors.
Identify new sales opportunities and expand the customer base.
Ensure effective in-store visibility and product placement.
Monitor stock levels at distributor and retail points to ensure availability.
Conduct regular market visits to gather insights and competitor data.
Coordinate with the supply chain team to ensure timely delivery.
Execute trade promotions and marketing initiatives in coordination with the marketing team.
Submit daily/weekly sales reports and market feedback.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field.
1-3 years of experience in FMCG sales (channel/distribution sales preferred).
Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Familiarity with MS Office and basic reporting tools.
Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory.
Preferred Skills:
Knowledge of local geography and retail network.
Experience in handling distributors and retail chains.
Fluency in the local language, Hindi and English.
