Job Title: Area Sales Manager (ASM - Makeup) - General Trade

Location: Kerala and Tamil Nadu
Reporting To: Regional Sales Manager / Zonal Sales Manager
Experience: 4-5 years in General Trade Sales

Job Summary:
The Area Sales Manager (ASM) - General Trade is responsible for managing and driving sales through general trade channels within the assigned territory. This includes managing a team of Sales Officers/Executives, driving primary and secondary sales, distributor management, and ensuring strong market execution.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales & Business Development

  • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for the assigned territory.
  • Drive primary and secondary sales through effective planning and execution.
  • Identify new market opportunities and expand general trade coverage.
  • Monitor competitor activity and formulate counter strategies.
Team Management
  • Lead, train, and motivate a team of Sales Officers/Representatives.
  • Set clear targets and track performance metrics.
  • Conduct regular market visits with team members to ensure effective market coverage and execution.
Distributor Management
  • Appoint, manage, and review distributors and stockists.
  • Ensure timely order placement, stock availability, and optimal inventory levels.
  • Monitor distributor ROI and ensure adherence to commercial norms.
Market Execution
  • Ensure visibility, availability, and freshness of products across outlets.
  • Implement trade promotions, schemes, and merchandising plans effectively.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with the company's SOPs and commercial policies.
Reporting & Analysis
  • Provide accurate sales forecasts and MIS reports.
  • Analyse sales trends, market share, and product movement.
  • Recommend corrective actions based on insights and data.

  • Analytical thinking and data-driven decision making.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM tools.
Educational Qualification:
  • Graduate in any discipline (preferably BBA/B. Com).
  • MBA/PGDM in Sales & Marketing will be an added advantage.
