- Area Sales Manager



Role Summary



The Area Sales Manager (ASM) is responsible for driving sales performance in the assigned area by managing distributors, developing markets, and leading the sales team. The role focuses on achieving sales targets, expanding distribution, ensuring execution discipline, and maintaining strong channel relationships.

Key Responsibilities



Sales & Market Growth



Achieve monthly and annual sales targets for the assigned area Drive primary and secondary sales through effective planning and execution Expand market coverage by identifying new towns, routes, and outlets Monitor market trends, competition, pricing, and schemes

Distributor Management



Appoint and manage distributors and key channel partners Ensure healthy stock levels, proper FIFO, and optimal distributor ROI Monitor credit, collections, and payment discipline Resolve distributor operational and supply-related issues

Team Management



Lead and guide Sales Officers / Executives in the area Set clear targets, beats, and priorities for the team Review daily, weekly, and monthly performance Coach team members on execution, discipline, and market work

Execution & Reporting



Ensure product availability, visibility, and merchandising at retail Track sales numbers, expenses, and market activities Submit regular reports and actionable market feedback to management

Eligibility



Graduation required; MBA or equivalent preferred 6-8 years of experience in FMCG sales Prior experience managing distributors and sales teams Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned area

Skills & Capabilities



Strong understanding of FMCG sales and distribution Ability to manage distributors and channel economics Leadership skills to drive and discipline a field sales team Clear communication and follow-up Basic financial understanding of targets, margins, credit, and costs Ability to analyse sales data and take corrective action

Compensation & Benefits



Fixed Salary: As per company CTC structure Sales Incentive: As per achievement of monthly and annual targets Travel Allowance: ?3 per km Daily Allowance: 150 per day Statutory Benefits: PF, Health Insurance, Gratuity (as applicable) Paid leaves as per company policy

Pay: ?40,000.00 - ?60,000.00 per month
