We are seeking a results-driven Area Sales Manager based in Indore to spearhead sales operations across the entire Madhya Pradesh region. This role is critical to expanding our market presence in one of India's key educational markets, building relationships with schools, distributors, and educational institutions while achieving ambitious sales targets.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and execute comprehensive regional sales strategies aligned with company objectives
Identify, target, and build relationships with schools, educational institutions, and key stakeholders across Madhya Pradesh.
Achieve and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for the assigned territory
Conduct market research to identify new business opportunities and competitive landscape analysis
Relationship Management
Foster strong relationships with school principals, trustees, coordinators, and decision-makers
Maintain ongoing relationships with existing clients while actively prospecting for new accounts.
Address customer queries, provide product information, and ensure exceptional customer service
Coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely order fulfillment and customer satisfaction.
Team Leadership & Training
Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of sales representatives and field executives.
Conduct regular training sessions to enhance team skills in educational publishing sales techniques
Set individual targets for team members and monitor their performance against KPIs
Participate in recruitment activities for expanding the sales team as needed.
Market Intelligence & Reporting
Monitor competitor activities, pricing strategies, and market trends.
Prepare comprehensive sales reports and present insights to senior management.
Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, sales activities, and market feedback
Utilize CRM tools to track leads, opportunities, and sales pipeline
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Commerce, or related field
MBA in Sales & Marketing preferred
Experience Requirements
Minimum 5-7 years of experience in B2B sales, preferably in educational publishing or related sectors.
Proven track record in area/territory sales management with demonstrated success in achieving sales targets.
Experience in managing distributor networks and channel partnerships.
Prior experience in the education sector or K-12 publishing industry highly preferred.
