The Area Sales Manager will oversee the growth and sales of laboratory glassware products within the designated territory. The role requires cultivating strong relationships with distributors, institutions, research organizations, and other clients, ensuring sales and collections goals are met, and expanding the company's footprint in key sectors of the laboratory and scientific community.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales & Market Expansion
Meet monthly and annual sales targets for laboratory glassware products.
Identify and create new business opportunities within educational institutions, research labs, hospitals, pharmaceutical companies, testing labs, and industrial sectors.
Execute region-specific sales strategies to enhance market share and brand visibility.
Continuously assess sales patterns, customer requirements, and competitor movements to adapt action plans.
Distributor & Channel Management
Recruit, train, and manage distributors, dealers, and stockists within the region.
Maintain adequate stock levels and ensure timely order fulfillment through the distribution network.
Conduct regular business reviews with distributors to align growth targets and address operational challenges.
Customer Relationship Management
Build and sustain relationships with key accounts, lab heads, purchasing managers, and institutional clients.
Lead product demonstrations, presentations, and technical discussions to showcase company offerings.
Resolve customer queries and service issues efficiently, ensuring customer satisfaction and retention.
Collection & Financial Oversight
Ensure timely collections and compliance with the company's credit policies.
Monitor outstanding accounts, coordinating with the finance team for follow-ups and reconciliation.
Reporting & Cross-Functional Coordination
Prepare and submit regular reports on sales performance, forecasts, and market trends.
Collaborate with logistics, marketing, and technical support teams to ensure smooth execution of orders.
Represent the company at trade shows, exhibitions, and seminars to promote products.
Key Skills & Competencies:
In-depth technical knowledge of laboratory glassware and consumables.
Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
Ability to manage diverse client relationships across academic, research, industrial, and healthcare sectors.
Strategic and analytical thinking with a focus on achieving results.
Proficient in MS Office and CRM tools.
Qualifications & Experience:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Science (Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology) or Business Administration; MBA is a plus.
Experience:
4-8 years in sales of laboratory glassware, lab consumables, or scientific equipment.
Other Requirements:
Demonstrated experience in distributor management and institutional sales.
Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory
