Job Purpose
The Area Sales Manager will be responsible for managing and driving sales performance in the assigned territory by leading a team of Medical Representatives, developing strong customer relationships, and achieving sales targets in the General segment.
Key Responsibilities
Achieve sales targets and ensure consistent growth in the assigned area
Manage, motivate, train, and monitor the performance of Medical Representatives
Implement company sales strategies, promotional plans, and marketing activities
Conduct regular field work, joint calls, and performance reviews with the team
Build and maintain strong relationships with doctors, chemists, stockists, and key opinion leaders
Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and provide regular market feedback
Ensure proper implementation of brand promotion strategies and product positioning
Prepare sales reports, forecasts, and expense statements as per company guidelines
Ensure compliance with company policies and ethical standards
Candidate Profile
Graduate in Science or Pharmacy (preferred)
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry
At least 1-2 years of experience as an ASM
Experience in the General segment is mandatory
Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills
Good knowledge of West Bengal territory
Proficient in local language(s) and English
