The Area Sales Manager is responsible for driving sales, managing dealer/distributor networks, and expanding market presence for cement or AAC block products within the assigned territory. This role focuses on achieving sales targets, building strong relationships with channel partners, contractors, builders, and influencers, while ensuring market growth and brand visibility.
Key Responsibilities
1. Sales & Revenue Growth
Achieve monthly and annual sales targets for cement/AAC blocks in the assigned area.
Drive primary and secondary sales through effective dealer and distributor management.
Identify new business opportunities and expand market penetration.
2. Channel Management
Appoint, develop, and manage dealers, distributors, retailers, and sub-dealers.
Monitor channel performance, stock levels, order flow, and credit usage.
Ensure pricing discipline, timely payments, and adherence to company policies.
Conduct regular visits to channel partners to maintain strong relationships.
3. Market Development
Conduct market mapping and identify potential territories for expansion.
Develop relationships with contractors, builders, architects, project managers, and government departments.
Generate product awareness through demos, presentations, and influencer meetings.
Monitor competitor activities, pricing strategies, schemes, and product launches.
4. Team & Territory Management
Manage and guide sales officers/executives within the assigned territory.
Plan daily sales routes, coverage plans, and beat schedules.
Ensure effective implementation of promotional schemes, offers, and marketing initiatives.
Train team members and channel partners on product features and benefits.
5. Reporting & Documentation
Maintain accurate sales reports, market feedback, competitor analysis, and stock status.
Use CRM, DMS, or ERP tools to track sales activities and performance.
Prepare weekly/monthly MIS reports for management review.
Follow up on order booking, dispatch coordination, and delivery tracking.
6. Customer Service & Relationship Building
Ensure customer satisfaction and address service issues promptly.
Build long-term relationships with key accounts and high-volume buyers.
Support after-sales service in coordination with technical teams.
Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Science, Commerce, Engineering, or Business; MBA preferred.
3-8 years of sales experience in building materials (cement, AAC blocks, RMC, steel, tiles, pipes, etc.).
Strong knowledge of channel sales, dealer development, and market dynamics.
Ability to build relationships with contractors, builders, and influencers.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and territory management skills.
