Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented

Architectural Model Maker

to create accurate and visually compelling

physical scale models

of architectural designs and sites. The ideal candidate should have strong craftsmanship, a good understanding of architecture, and proficiency in both hand and digital fabrication methods (e.g., laser cutting, 3D printing).

Key Responsibilities:

Construct physical architectural models based on 2D drawings, 3D models, or design concepts. Interpret architectural plans, sections, and elevations with high accuracy. Use materials such as foam board, acrylic, wood, cardboard, and 3D printed parts to build scale models. Operate tools including laser cutters, 3D printers, and CNC machines. Finish models with detailing, painting, lighting, and landscaping where required. Collaborate with architects, designers, and visualization teams to meet design intent. Manage time and materials efficiently to meet project deadlines. Repair or update existing models as needed.

Qualifications:

Diploma or degree in Architecture, Industrial Design, Product Design, Model Making, or related field. 2+ years of hands-on experience in physical model making preferred. Strong technical drawing interpretation skills. Knowledge of architectural scales and proportions.

Skills & Tools:

Excellent hand-crafting skills and attention to detail. Experience with laser cutting, 3D printing, and related fabrication tools. Familiarity with design software (SketchUp, AutoCAD, Rhino, Revit, etc.) a plus. Ability to work with materials like foam core, wood, acrylic, and resin. Good time management and ability to handle multiple projects.
