About the Role

We are looking for a detail-oriented and technically skilled

Architectural Draftsman

to join our design team in Ahmedabad. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between architectural concepts and construction reality. You will be responsible for converting rough sketches into technical working drawings, ensuring all designs comply with local

AMC (Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation)

and

AUDA

regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Drafting & Documentation:

Create accurate 2D architectural drawings including floor plans, sections, elevations, and detailed joinery drawings using

AutoCAD

.

Submission Drawings:

Prepare municipal submission drawings strictly adhering to the latest

GDCR (General Development Control Regulations)

and

FSI (Floor Space Index)

calculations for approval.

Construction Documentation:

Generate "Good for Construction" (GFC) drawings for site contractors, including electrical, plumbing (MEP), and structural coordination layouts.

Site Coordination:

Occasionally visit sites (around Ahmedabad/Gandhinagar) to take measurements and ensure the construction aligns with the drafted plans.

3D Modeling (Bonus):

Create basic 3D massing or renders using SketchUp or Revit to assist clients in visualizing the project.

Record Keeping:

Maintain a structured digital library of drawings, revisions, and project documents for easy retrieval.

Required Qualifications & Skills

Education:

Diploma in Architecture/Civil Engineering, ITI Draftsman Certification, or B.Arch.

Software Proficiency:

AutoCAD:

Expert level (X-refs, Layer management, Dynamic blocks).

SketchUp/Revit:

Basic to Intermediate knowledge is a plus.

MS Office:

Excel (for area calculations).

Local Knowledge:

Strong understanding of

Gujarat's Comprehensive GDCR

2017/2021 norms, Jantri rates, and common building bylaws in Ahmedabad.

Soft Skills:

Ability to work under tight deadlines, good communication in

Gujarati/Hindi

(for site coordination) and English (for office correspondence).
