We are seeking a skilled Architect to lead the design, planning, and execution of multiplex cinema facilities, including new builds, renovations, and cinema set-ups. The role requires strong proficiency in spatial planning for Audi's, lobbies, concessions, back-of-house operations, acoustics, lighting, safety compliance, and integration of cinema technology.
Key Responsibilities:
? Lead architectural design and documentation for new multiplex cinemas and major refurbishments, from concept through construction administration.
? Develop and optimize floor plans for Audi's (screen rooms), lobby areas, ticketing, concessions, restrooms, service corridors, mechanical rooms, and back-of-house areas to maximize throughput, comfort, and revenue opportunities.
? Collaborate with cinema operators to translate business needs into functional, flexible, and scalable spaces (e.g., modular seating, egress routes, accessibility compliance).
? Ensure compliance with local building codes, fire safety standards, accessibility regulations (e.g., ADA/EN), acoustic requirements, HVAC constraints, and other statutory requirements.
? Integrate cinema technology systems (projection rooms, sound systems, lighting, LED walls, digital signage, control rooms) into the architectural design with minimal clash and optimal serviceability.
? Develop detailed drawn plans, 3D models, renderings, and specifications for tender, procurement, and construction.
? Oversee coordination with MEP engineers, structural engineers, AV integrators, cinema equipment suppliers, and general contractors (GCs) to ensure timely, budget-conscious delivery.
? Perform feasibility studies, massing studies, and site analyses for potential locations, including parking, access, and crowd management considerations.
? Review and approve shop drawings, material selections, finishes, and FF&E (furniture, fixtures, and equipment) related to cinema interiors.
? Manage design budgets, timelines, and risk assessments; provide regular progress reports to stakeholders.
? Create and maintain design standards and libraries for multiplex cinema branding, wayfinding, signage, and interior detailing.
? Support post-occupancy evaluation to ensure spaces perform as intended and plan any necessary modifications.
Qualifications:
? Architecture degree (B.Arch, M.Arch) from an accredited institution; licensed/registered architect preferred.
? 5+ years of experience in architectural design for entertainment venues, cinema chains, theatres, or hospitality projects; experience with multiplex cinemas is highly desirable.
? Strong knowledge of building codes, life-safety regulations, accessibility standards, and acoustics for cinema environments.
? Proficiency in design software (AutoCAD, Revit/BIM, SketchUp, 3ds Max, Adobe Creative Suite) and 3D rendering.
? Experience with AV/IT integration, projection rooms, surround sound systems, and lighting control.
? Strong visualization, presentation, and storytelling abilities to convey design concepts to stakeholders.
? Project management experience, including budget, schedule, and risk management.
? Knowledge of sustainable design and LEED or similar green building practices is a plus.
? Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
