Over the next 2 years, our goal is to transform the travel experience for 300 mn commuters monthly, unlocking over 2.5 billion hrs of digital consumption, where otherwise Apps don't work reliably, due to unstable or inexistent cellular connectivity.



How do we do it?




We install servers at key places of interest (POIs) where users access internet services (Public transport, Rural areas, Residential complexes, Corporate parks, Hotels, Educational institutes, Retail zones, F&B outlets, etc.) Sugar Box's patented technology then uses prediction algorithms to cache relevant data from partner Apps on each local server. In addition to this, the local server uses Edge computing to manage other technical requirements such as User registration, Personalization, Security, Ads & Payments. This server is then exposed to the consumer over a local Wi-Fi so that s/he is able to use the partner Apps without any dependence on internet connectivity.



What disruption are we creating?

Unlock seamless digital access on-the-go, in villages & remote areas, where users are in a near captive environment (And courtesy of the lockdown, we have all experienced what being held captive does to digital consumption!)

Even offline consumption can now be monetized - that means consumer will be served Ads & will be able to transact even without connectivity.

Position - Architect - Mobile

Technical Responsibilities
The candidate will be in a solution-focused role responsible for providing technical solutions, working both independently on assigned projects, and collaboratively with other team members.

• 
  Designing, developing, and debugging products and features.
• 
  Technical mentorship to the team.
• 
  Analyze and resolve technical queries that the team may have from time to time.
• 
  PoCs or feasibility assessments based on the product requirements.
• 
  Feasibility studies for partner integrations.
• 
  Design appropriate solutions/architecture for the integrations based on requirements, with available products/features.
• 
  Review solution design and architecture developed by team members.
• 
  Code reviews, and set up guidelines for development including tools for static/dynamic code analysis and unit testing.
• 
  Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams such as Product, and Business.
• 
  Manage and improve systems by innovating and implementing best practices.
• 
  Create and maintain a system of documenting architectural decisions for the long run.

Requirements Education Requirements

• 
  Minimum - Graduate. Technical streams would be preferred.

Experience and Skill Requirements

• 
  At least 8 years of experience in technology development and architecture.
• 
  Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Android and relevant tech.
• 
  Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in iOS and relevant tech.
• 
  2 years of experience in architecture roles responsible for maintaining business/technology alignment.
• 
  Excellent knowledge and skills in the areas of Android and iOS ecosystems.
• 
  Sound knowledge of Android/iOS SDK, different versions of Android/iOS, and responsive app development.
• 
  Must have knowledge of CLEAN architecture and SOLID principles.
• 
  Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect Android/iOS applications to back-end services.
• 
  Experience with Kotlin and Swift is required.
• 
  Sound knowledge of Microservices, REST API Design, Development, and Management.
• 
  Excellent knowledge of Embedded databases.
• 
  Must have knowledge and experience of security design, and best practices.
• 
  Strong problem-solving and analytical skills (especially around the areas of performance, and scalability on the above-mentioned technologies)
• 
  Knowledge of working with CI/CD platforms such as Jenkins, CircleCI, TravisCI, etc.
• 
  Excellent understanding of standard protocols such as HTTP/HTTPS, DNS, SSL, etc.

Any Other Requirements

• 
  Experience in developing SDKs.
• 
  Knowledge of video streaming technology and use of CDNs like CloudFront, Akamai, Cloudflare, etc.
• 
  Experience in working in an Agile environment with good communication skills.
• 
  Passion for learning new technologies and upgrading versions of the technology.
• 
  Experience with project management tools like JIRA, Confluence, etc.
