The Architect is responsible for designing safe, functional, and inclusive learning environments. They collaborate with school principals, government officials, and internal teams to create spaces that meet educational needs, adhere to safety standards, stay within budget, and align with sustainability goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Designing School Spaces:
Plan layouts for classrooms, STEM labs, play areas, and staff rooms, focusing on flexibility, sustainability, and child-centric design.
Creating Drawings & Documents:
Prepare 2D/3D drawings, detailed layouts, and material lists for the construction team. Ensure accurate as-built documentation after completion.
Understanding School Needs:
Translate school requirements into design concepts, improving natural light, ventilation, and accessibility for all students, including those with disabilities.
Budgeting & Costing:
Ensure cost-effective material choices while maintaining high design quality. Help verify material quantities and suggest cost-saving measures.
Construction Support:
Collaborate with engineers and contractors to ensure proper execution of the design and make adjustments as needed during construction.
Team Communication:
Work with budgeting managers, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure the design stays within budget and meets project goals.
Continuous Improvement:
Stay informed on global school design trends, integrating innovative and sustainable ideas to enhance learning environments.
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) or related degree.
Proficiency in design software (AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp).
Strong understanding of sustainability practices and building codes.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills
