The Architect Design Coordination Lead is responsible for ensuring seamless communication and alignment between architectural design teams, consultants, and other project stakeholders/ JV Partners. This role involves overseeing design processes, resolving coordination challenges, and ensuring design deliverables are consistent, accurate, and aligned with project goals and timelines.
Key Responsibilities
Design Coordination
Act as the primary liaison between architectural teams, engineers, consultants, and contractors.
Review and integrate design inputs from various disciplines to ensure compatibility and accuracy.
Identify and resolve conflicts in design documentation and construction plans.
Project Oversight
Develop and manage design coordination schedules and workflows.
Ensure all design phases meet project deadlines, quality standards, and budget requirements.
Facilitate design coordination meetings and workshops to address technical issues.
Documentation and Compliance
Review and approve architectural drawings, specifications, and BIM models for consistency.
Ensure designs comply with building codes, regulations, and sustainability standards.
Maintain thorough records of design coordination decisions and changes.
Team Collaboration
Work closely with project managers, construction teams, and client representatives to address design-related queries.
Mentor and support junior architects and design team members.
Foster a collaborative environment to encourage creative problem-solving and innovation.
Quality Assurance
Conduct regular design audits to ensure adherence to project standards.
Monitor the implementation of design elements during the construction phase.
Provide feedback and recommendations to improve design coordination processes.
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture or a related field.
Experience:
15-20 years of professional experience in architectural design, including a focus on coordination roles.
Must have good knowledge of building bye-laws, statutory approval process and local bye-laws of Maharashtra and other states.
Proven ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and large-scale projects. Must have done Hospitality projects, group housing, commercial projects.
Skills:
Proficiency in design software (e.g., AutoCAD. Added advantage with Revit, Navisworks, BIM 360).
Strong understanding of engineering systems, construction processes, and technical coordination.
Exceptional organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Certifications (preferred):
Licensed Architect (RA, AIA, or equivalent certification).
Familiarity with LEED, IGBC, WELL, or similar sustainability frameworks.
