Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Engineering Leader (SVP level) to drive our data, engineering, and AI strategy. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise in data platforms, distributed systems, and modern programming languages (Java, Python, PySpark) along with exposure to AI/ML initiatives. This leader will be responsible for shaping the technology roadmap, leading high-performing engineering teams, and collaborating with business stakeholders to deliver transformative solutions at scale.
Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Leadership
• Define and execute the engineering strategy for data platforms, advanced analytics, and AI adoption.
• Partner with business leaders, product owners, and data scientists to align engineering priorities with organizational goals.
• Drive innovation in data engineering, AI, and cloud-native development.
• Technical Leadership
• Lead the design and development of large-scale distributed data systems leveraging Java, Python, and PySpark.
• Oversee development of ETL pipelines, real-time data processing, and advanced data models.
• Guide teams in applying AI/ML solutions for business problems, ensuring scalability and explainability.
• Ensure best practices in software engineering, architecture, DevOps, and MLOps.
• Team & People Leadership
• Build, mentor, and retain a world-class engineering team with a focus on high performance and innovation.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and accountability.
• Drive organizational transformation by championing AI and modern data practices.
• Execution & Governance
• Deliver enterprise-grade solutions with a focus on security, compliance, and performance.
• Establish governance for data quality, data lineage, and model transparency.
• Manage vendor partnerships, optimize technology investments, and reduce operational costs.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related field (PhD is a plus).
• Experience:
• 15+ years of engineering experience, with at least 5 years in senior leadership
• Proven track record of leading enterprise-scale data engineering and AI initiatives.
• Strong hands-on and architectural knowledge of Java, Python, and PySpark.
• Experience in distributed systems, big data technologies (Spark, Kafka, Hadoop, cloud platforms).
• Exposure to AI/ML lifecycle management, MLOps, and GenAI solutions.
• Strong understanding of financial services/banking domain (preferred, but not mandatory).
