The Applications Development Intermediate Programmer Analyst is an intermediate level position responsible for participation in the establishment and implementation of new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to contribute to applications systems analysis and programming activities. Background: Citi Treasury and Trade Solutions (TTS) Technology is going through several transformational technology initiatives. One of the critical functions is to Treasury Funding Automation. This team is building next generation platform ground up. We seek a Java developer with strong background in core Java & API buildout. The developer should be well versed in Unit testing and mocking tools, knowledge of memory management and performance testing APIs. Job Purpose: Our application is designed to process significant volumes of data from multiple upstream systems, which requires high proportion of straight through processing. A developer will be responsible for low level implementation of server side Java and APIs. Given greenfield nature, team welcomes experience of developing stateless APIs. The role will require Unit, Integration & API performance Testing skills. We seek candidate who demonstrates depth and breadth of Java based technologies. Willingness to learn, flexibility in working with back and front end systems, the ability to collaborate with the wider team and an open mind are the traits of our perfect candidate. Responsibilities: Monitor and control all phases of development process and analysis, design, construction, testing, and implementation as well as provide user and operational support on applications to business users Utilize in-depth specialty knowledge of applications development to analyze complex problems/issues, provide evaluation of business process, system process, and industry standards, and make evaluative judgement Consult with users/clients and other technology groups on issues, recommend advanced programming solutions, and install and assist customer exposure systems Ensure essential procedures are followed and help define operating standards and processes Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision. Can exercise independence of judgement and autonomy. Be involved in the full agile development lifecycle from analysis, design, development and deployment Implement the application at low level using Java and contribute to higher level architecture decisions Demonstrate high coverage of unit testing and performance test our APIs Work closely with other team members to maintain high quality code Work in a leading banking environment on modern treasury funding software development Play a key role in Citi achieving its mission and learn how to sustain a treasury funding platform serving a number of demanding businesses Qualifications: 5+ years of relevant experience Experience in systems analysis and programming of software applications Very good working knowledge in core Java and JUnit frameworks Knowledge on Web technologies, HTML5, CSS and JavaScript Knowledge of, or experience with Oracle (PL/SQL) Knowledge of/experience with REST Api, gRPC or GraphQL Knowledge of distributed caches, Ignite desirable Knowledge of multithreading concepts and design patterns Good communication skills Analytical and problem-solving personality Good to have: Familiarity with Treasury or Financial Services in general You should be able to work in an Agile team environment, taking responsibility for implementation, provide status updates, identify, and escalate risks and present solutions to peers and business groups.
