Summary: Level 3 - Senior Engineer / Backup SME / Architect : Leads the design, optimization, and governance of enterprise backup infrastructure across hybrid environments. Drives automation, DR testing, and service improvement initiatives for Commvault, Azure Backup, and Veeam platforms. Roles & Responsibilities: o Design and implement global backup and recovery strategies. o Manage and optimize CommServe, Media Agents, Azure Vaults, and Veeam repositories. o Lead upgrades, capacity planning, and DR exercises. o Automate recurring tasks using PowerShell, Python, or REST APIs. o Perform RCA for major incidents and recommend preventive measures. o Integrate on-prem and cloud backup solutions (Azure Blob, AWS S3, etc.). o Ensure compliance with security, retention, and regulatory standards. o Mentor and guide L1/L2 engineers and conduct KT sessions. Professional & Technical Skills: o 5-10+ years of experience in enterprise backup infrastructure management. o Expert knowledge of Commvault architecture, Azure Backup, and Veeam Enterprise Plus / Cloud Connect. o Strong understanding of storage, virtualization, and networking. o Proven experience with multi-petabyte, cross-region environments. o Scripting experience (PowerShell, Python, Bash) for automation.
