Summary: As an Application Support Engineer, you will act as software detectives, providing a dynamic service that identifies and resolves issues within various components of critical business systems. Your typical day will involve collaborating with team members to troubleshoot problems, analyzing system performance, and ensuring the smooth operation of applications that are vital to business functions. You will engage with stakeholders to understand their needs and provide timely solutions, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the organization. Roles & Responsibilities: - Expected to be an SME -Install, configure, and upgrade Oracle databases (standalone and clustered) on Linux/Unix/Windows platforms. -Apply patches and perform database version upgrades and migrations. -Manage Oracle Grid Infrastructure, ASM, and listener configurations. -Monitor system performance using AWR, ASH, OEM, and SQL Trace. -Tune SQL queries, indexes, and PL/SQL procedures. -Proactively resolve bottlenecks and optimize resource utilization (CPU, memory, I/O). -Implement and manage RMAN-based backup and recovery strategies. -Configure and monitor Oracle Data Guard for high availability and disaster recovery. -Conduct database restores and participate in DR drills -Deploy and manage Oracle databases in cloud environments such as Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI- DB Systems, Autonomous DB & AWS RDS for Oracle, Azure Oracle DB Services -Support hybrid configurations and data replication between cloud and on-prem systems. -Configure data encryption (TDE), auditing, and fine-grained access control (FGAC). -Manage user access, privileges, roles, and authentication integration (LDAP, Kerberos). -Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA). -Automate maintenance tasks using PL/SQL, Shell scripting, or Python. -Create monitoring and alerting scripts for early issue detection. -Use Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM/Cloud Control) and third-party tools for monitoring. -Maintain documentation of architecture, processes, change logs, and disaster recovery plans. Professional & Technical Skills: - Must To Have Skills: Proficiency in Oracle Database Administration (DBA). - Good To Have Skills: Experience with AWS Administration, Microsoft Azure IaaS. -Need to have Oracle Versions skill in Oracle 11g, 12c, 18c, 19c, 21c -Need to have Cloud Platforms skill in OCI (Oracle Cloud Infrastructure), AWS RDS, Azure Oracle DB Services -Need to have Monitoring Tools skill in OEM (Enterprise Manager), Toad, SQL Developer, Nagios, SolarWinds -Need to have Backup Tools skill in RMAN, NetBackup, Commvault, Data Domain (integration) -Need to have Scripting & Automation skill in Bash, Shell, Python, PL/SQL -Need to have certification in Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) - Oracle Database Administration ,Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Architect / DBA Associate, AWS or Azure Database Certifications (for hybrid environments) & ITIL Foundation (for process-based environments). Additional Information: - The candidate should have minimum 3 years of experience in Oracle Database Administration (DBA). - This position is based at our Bengaluru office. - A 15 years full time education is required.
