Summary: As an Application Support Engineer, you will act as software detectives, providing a dynamic service that identifies and resolves issues within various components of critical business systems. Your typical day will involve collaborating with team members to troubleshoot problems, analyzing system performance, and ensuring the smooth operation of applications that are vital to business functions. You will engage with different stakeholders to gather information, implement solutions, and contribute to the overall efficiency of the systems in place, ensuring that any disruptions are addressed promptly and effectively. Roles & Responsibilities: - Expected to perform independently and become an SME. - Required active participation/contribution in team discussions. - Contribute in providing solutions to work related problems. - Assist in the development and implementation of best practices for application support. - Monitor system performance and proactively identify potential issues before they impact business operations. Professional & Technical Skills: The candidate should be an expert in Linux administration. Preference shall be given to candidates with the following skills: Hands-on knowledge of RedHat, Shell scripting. o Should have strong OS administration skills on Linux o Hands on experience on Red Hat Enterprise Linux System Administration. (Version 5, 6 & 7). o Experience in Linux OS installation, Software and Patch management o Volume Manager Administration Network OS / SW installation o OS patching skills on Linux o Strong knowledge on Redhat, Ubuntu & Debian Linux operating systems o Should know how to debug/troubleshoot memory issues o Must have expertise on OS internals on Linux & Unix o Good knowledge about the Linux system files, boot process and Run levels o Familiar with the configuration and maintenance of network hardware and peripherals o General System Administration expertise o Installation and configuration of Software o Knowledge on Memory management for better OS and application performances Additional Information: - The candidate should have minimum 2 years of experience in Red Hat OS Administration. - This position is based at our Bengaluru office. - A 15 years full time education is required.
