Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Application & Software Development Engineer to join our Protection Segment team. The successful candidate will be responsible for software validation, template creation, and providing pre-sales and post-sales support as required. The role involves working with protection relays, communication protocols, and power system equipment to ensure system reliability, compliance, and safety.
Responsibilities:
- Software Development Activities:
- Test and verify the operation of new and existing features of the software & Firmware and PowerDB configuration tools
- Ensure quality and adherence to timelines
- Create new relay templates as per customer requirements
- Identify and resolve process development issues
- Relay Testing and Commissioning:
- Perform functional testing of protection relays, including overcurrent, distance, differential, and other schemes
- Fault Analysis and Troubleshooting:
- Analyze relay event records and oscillography to diagnose system faults
- Troubleshoot protection schemes and recommend corrective actions
- Technical Support:
- Provide technical support to south Asian countries clients/distributors during pre-sales/post-sales testing and commissioning
- Train client personnel on relay settings, testing procedures, and system operation
- Communication Protocols:
- Work with communication protocols such as IEC 61850, 9-2, DNP3, Modbus, and others
Requirements:
- BE in Electrical and Electronics Engineering
- Minimum 3 years of experience in protection segment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Willingness to travel to south Asian countries for support (approximately 20% travel)
