Role: Nutanix HCI with AHV & Windows Server Administrator Career Level: 9 Entity: IO Shared Services Job Title: Infrastructure Operations Sr. Analyst Relevant Experience: 84 Months Job Summary: The Senior Infrastructure Engineer will be responsible for administration, implementation, and management of Nutanix Hyper-Converged Infrastructure (HCI) leveraging AHV hypervisor, alongside comprehensive management of Microsoft Windows Server platforms. The role involves ensuring the availability, security, performance optimization, and capacity planning of Nutanix clusters and Windows Server environments, both on-premises and within hybrid cloud setups. Key Responsibilities: Nutanix HCI Management with AHV: o Architect, deploy, and manage Nutanix HCI clusters utilizing AHV hypervisor, ensuring optimal performance, scalability, and availability. o Perform cluster administration tasks, including virtual machine lifecycle management, storage provisioning, resource optimization, snapshots, replication, and disaster recovery using Nutanix Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions like Async DR, NearSync, and Metro Availability. o Configure and maintain Nutanix Prism Central and Prism Element for proactive monitoring, analytics, predictive intelligence, and infrastructure optimization. o Execute Nutanix AOS, AHV, Prism, and Foundation upgrades to maintain infrastructure reliability and security. o Manage Nutanix native data protection and disaster recovery strategies ensuring business continuity. Windows Server Administration: o Manage and administer Microsoft Windows Server environments (2022, 2019, 2016, 2012) across on-premises data centers and hybrid cloud environments. o Configure and manage Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS), Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, File and Print Services, Failover Clustering, and Network Load Balancing (NLB). o Maintain security compliance through regular vulnerability assessments, server hardening, and remediation activities using industry-standard tools such as Qualys, Nessus, and Microsoft Defender. o Deploy and administer enterprise antivirus and endpoint protection solutions (e.g., Symantec Endpoint Protection, McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator). Cloud Infrastructure Integration: o Integrate and manage hybrid cloud environments, specifically targeting Windows Server workloads on Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). o Leverage cloud-native management tools like Azure Arc, AWS Systems Manager, and Google Cloud Operations Suite for automation, patching, and infrastructure monitoring. o Implement and manage disaster recovery and backup solutions leveraging Nutanix Leap and cloud-native backup tools. Automation and Monitoring: o Utilize Nutanix Calm and automation frameworks (PowerShell, Python, Ansible, Terraform) for infrastructure deployment, patch management, and routine operational tasks. o Monitor infrastructure health, performance, and capacity using Nutanix Prism analytics, proactively identifying and resolving issues. Documentation and Collaboration: o Develop comprehensive documentation of infrastructure configurations, operational procedures, and troubleshooting workflows. o Collaborate with network, security, and cloud teams to deliver integrated solutions aligned with business requirements. Skills and Experience: Required Technical Skills: o Extensive experience managing Nutanix AHV-based HCI clusters. o Proficient in Microsoft Windows Server administration, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, GPO, and high-availability clustering. o Strong experience integrating hybrid cloud environments (Azure, AWS, GCP). o Expertise in vulnerability management, server hardening, and compliance standards. Preferred Skills: o Experience with automation and scripting tools (PowerShell, Python, Ansible, Terraform). o Familiarity with Nutanix Calm for automation and orchestration. o Understanding of backup and disaster recovery strategies utilizing Nutanix Leap and cloud-specific backup solutions. Experience Level: o 5+ years managing Nutanix AHV environments. o 3+ years of extensive Windows Server administration and cloud platform management. Education and Certification: o Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline. o Relevant certifications highly desired: o Nutanix Certified Professional - Multicloud Infrastructure (NCP-MCI) o Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Administration o Azure, AWS, or GCP cloud certifications Personal Attributes: o Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. o Excellent communication abilities, including mentoring and providing technical guidance. o Flexible learner, adaptable to emerging technologies, and open to supporting operations during out-of-hours (OOH).
