We are seeking a highly skilled Elasticsearch Lead Architect/Engineer to design, implement, and manage enterprise-grade search, logging, and analytics solutions based on the Elastic Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana, Beats, Elastic Agent). The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in distributed search systems, data ingestion pipelines, and observability platforms, with the ability to lead architectural decisions and mentor engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

Architecture & Design

+ Define and lead the Elasticsearch architecture strategy for scalability, availability, and performance.
+ Design and optimize indexing, search, and data retention strategies.
+ Establish best practices for multi-cluster and cross-cluster setups.

Implementation & Operations

+ Deploy, manage, and tune Elasticsearch clusters (on-premises and cloud).
+ Build and maintain data ingestion pipelines using Logstash, Beats, Elastic Agent, or APIs.
+ Optimize query performance, cluster health, and resource utilization.
+ Implement security controls including TLS, RBAC, SSO, and compliance-driven policies.

Monitoring & Troubleshooting

+ Proactively monitor and maintain Elasticsearch performance and availability.
+ Troubleshoot indexing, query performance, and cluster stability issues.
+ Implement backup, restore, and disaster recovery strategies.

Leadership & Collaboration

+ Act as a technical lead, mentoring engineers and reviewing designs/code.
+ Collaborate with developers, DevOps, observability, and security teams.
+ Evaluate new Elastic features, plugins, and integrations for adoption.

Required Skills & Experience

Strong hands-on experience with the Elastic Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana, Beats/Elastic Agent). Proven expertise in designing and scaling Elasticsearch clusters (multi-node, multi-data center). Deep knowledge of index lifecycle management (ILM), shard allocation, and query optimization. Experience with log and metric ingestion pipelines. Proficiency with scripting (Python, Shell, or similar) for automation. Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and Elasticsearch service offerings (Elastic Cloud, OpenSearch). Strong knowledge of security integration (TLS, SAML/SSO, LDAP, RBAC). Experience with observability, APM, and SIEM use cases in Elastic.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience migrating from legacy search or logging platforms to Elastic. Familiarity with Kibana dashboards and Canvas for visualization. Knowledge of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes). Exposure to AIOps/ML features in Elastic (anomaly detection, forecasting). Prior experience in a lead or architect role guiding teams and solutions.

Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to business stakeholders. Leadership, mentoring, and team collaboration capabilities. Strong documentation and presentation skills.

Education & Experience

8+ years of IT experience, with 5+ years focused on Elasticsearch/Elastic Stack. Proven track record as a Lead Engineer/Architect in large-scale Elastic deployments. Elasticsearch Engineer or Architect certification (Elastic Certified Engineer / Observability Engineer).
