As an Application Engineer at e-con Systems, you will be the technical interface between customers and internal teams - ensuring successful integration and deployment of e-con's camera modules, embedded vision systems, and AI-enabled surveillance products.
You'll engage from pre-sales to production, providing solution proposals, design integration support, and field-level debugging assistance.
This role is ideal for engineers who are technically hands-on, customer-oriented, and eager to grow in both system-level problem-solving and solution ownership.
Key Responsibilities:
#
Pre-Sales & Solution Definition:
Collaborate with Sales and Product Management to understand customer requirements and propose suitable camera or embedded vision solutions using e-con Systems' products.
Participate in technical discussions, requirement gathering, and feasibility assessments, translating customer needs into clear technical deliverables.
Support customer proof-of-concept (PoC) and evaluation activities to achieve design wins.
#
Integration & Design Support:
Guide customers on hardware and software integration, including camera bring-up, image tuning, and performance optimization on embedded platforms.
Work hands-on with NVIDIA Jetson, Qualcomm, or ARM-based embedded platforms, debugging and configuring Linux drivers (V4L2, GStreamer, MIPI, USB, GMSL, Ethernet).
Collaborate closely with internal engineering and QA teams to resolve issues and enhance product robustness.
#
Production & Post-Deployment Support:
Assist customers during transition from prototype to production -- resolving manufacturing, firmware, or image-quality-related challenges.
Track and escalate recurring field issues, providing structured feedback to R&D for continuous improvement.
Maintain strong documentation for customer configurations and integration guides.
#
Product Enablement & Knowledge Sharing:
Validate new camera modules, features, and SDK updates; provide actionable feedback to product and engineering teams.
Conduct technical trainings for distributors, customers, and partners to enhance adoption of e-con's products.
Contribute to application notes, FAQs, and demo content in collaboration with the marketing and technical writing teams.
Technical Skills:
Solid understanding of Embedded Systems, Linux (kernel & user space), and driver-level debugging.
Programming experience in C/C++ and Python, with working knowledge of shell scripting.
Familiarity with camera and imaging technologies -- Image sensors, ISPs, color tuning, exposure control, and video formats.
Hands-on experience with vision interfaces (USB 3.0, MIPI CSI-2, GMSL, GigE Vision) and media frameworks (V4L2, GStreamer, OpenCV).
Experience with AI inference on edge devices (Jetson / Qualcomm / NPU platforms) is a strong plus.
Understanding of networked video streaming, latency, and bandwidth optimization desirable for surveillance use cases.
Behavioral & Business Competencies:
Customer-centric mindset - ability to translate technical complexity into business impact and actionable insights.
Strong communication skills - articulate technical details clearly in written and verbal formats.
Analytical problem-solving - structured debugging, root-cause analysis, and issue ownership.
Collaboration & cross-functional alignment - comfortable working with Sales, Product, R&D, and QA teams.
Adaptability - can handle changing priorities across geographies and projects.
Continuous learning - proactive in exploring new camera technologies, edge AI frameworks, and embedded toolchains.
Hands-on attitude - thrives in lab testing, PoC building, and direct customer interactions.
Documentation discipline - maintains organized records of test setups, configurations, and resolutions.
What Makes This Role Exciting:
Be part of the Business Unit driving next-generation Smart Surveillance solutions.
Work directly with global OEMs, system integrators, and AI solution providers.
Opportunity to influence product roadmaps through direct customer feedback and field experience.
* Exposure to end-to-end camera solution lifecycle - from concept to deployment.
