Position: Application Engineer - Material Handling Equipment Experience: 3-4 Years Qualification: B.E./Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Industry: Material Handling / Conveyors / Lifts / Industrial Equipment Location: Navi Mumbai Role Overview The Application Engineer will be responsible for preparing Operation & Maintenance (O&M) manuals, technical documentation, and providing application support for material handling systems such as conveyors, lifts, elevators, feeders, and associated equipment. The role requires direct customer interaction, strong documentation skills, and solid knowledge of core mechanical engineering principles. Key Responsibilities O&M Manuals & Technical Documentation ? Independently prepare Operation & Maintenance (O&M) manuals for: o Belt conveyors, screw conveyors, chain conveyors o Bucket elevators, lifts, feeders, lump breakers, hoppers, etc. ? Develop: o Operating procedures o Preventive & breakdown maintenance guidelines o Troubleshooting charts o Safety instructions and do's & don'ts o Spare parts lists and recommended consumables ? Review and finalize documents as per customer standards and project scope. Application Engineering Support ? Study GA drawings, fabrication drawings, BOMs, and specifications to extract accurate technical inputs. ? Provide technical inputs during design freeze and customer discussions. Customer Communication ? Communicate professionally with customers while submitting manuals, reports, and clarifications. ? Handle customer comments and revise documents accordingly. ? Participate in technical discussions with customer engineers, consultants, and inspectors as required. ? Ensure timely submission and approval of all engineering documents. Software & Documentation Tools ? Prepare and manage documents using: o MS Word - Manuals, procedures, technical notes o MS Excel - Maintenance schedules, data sheets, checklists o MS PowerPoint - Technical presentations, training material o PDF tools - Merging, markups, revisions ? Use MS Outlook effectively for professional communication, tracking, and coordination. Required Skills & Competencies Technical Skills ? Strong fundamentals of mechanical engineering. ? Good working knowledge of material handling equipment and their operation. ? Ability to understand mechanical drawings and technical specifications. ? Exposure to manufacturing, assembly, or site installation activities is preferred. Experience Level Fit (3-4 Years) ? Able to work independently on documentation tasks. ? Requires minimal guidance for standard O&M manuals. ? Capable of coordinating directly with customers and internal teams. Soft Skills ? Strong written and verbal communication skills. ? Clear and structured technical writing ability. ? Good coordination, follow-up, and time management skills. ? Customer-focused and professional approach.
