Job Description

With a permanent position working for Schneider Electric Regional Execution Platform (REP), Delhi, The Mechanical Cooling Systems Application Design Senior Engineer role is both Pre & Post order mainly dedicated to E-house (O&G and MMM) and Datacenter business.
During the Pre order phase, the primary task is to work with Tender Managers and support to increase SE market share and revenue within specific Partner/End-user, using technical solution design and implementation through the application of SE cooling solutions with dedicated calculations supporting choice of each solution.
Post order the role is heavily focused on the delivery of Solution orders the SE organization has secured. The Expert will be responsible for all aspects of the technical elements of a solutions order, whilst working closely with Project Manager and Technical Leader of the project. The aim of the role being to deliver a best in class cooling technical solution using robust and vigorous design tools and processes.
Primary Responsibilities:

  • Practical understanding of airflow & associated restrictions within a Data centers and E-house
  • Pre Order design of IT Network Critical Physical Infrastructure (NCPI) solutions comprising standard components and 3rd party vendor products & services.
  • Predominantly Post Order design of IT Network Critical Physical Infrastructure (NCPI) solutions comprising standard components and 3rd party vendor products & services.
  • The type of solutions will involve a variety of technology including chilled water supply systems, In-Room, In Row & In Rack cooling solutions, DX cooling systems, evaporative free cooling, etc.
  • Generation of all necessary technical documents including
  • Mechanical & / or Electrical drawings
  • Customer technical submittals
  • Any necessary design calculations
  • Any necessary customized testing & commissioning documentation.
  • General arrangement layout drawings
  • Co-ordination drawings
  • Technical elements of any O&M Manuals
RFQ scope & specification definition for 3rd party quotes.
Act as SE representative at customer project design meetings.
Promote SE solutions to become a trusted advisor and expand that to other application areas where possible.
Support Project Manager and Technical Leader on technical aspects of the projects they are allocated to.
Rigorously embrace a formalized design production & review process including attendance at project kick-off & progress meetings.
Assist with Customer Training on projects and any necessary supporting documentation.
Lead cooling assessment surveys & reports.
Provide technical support where necessary to established ongoing contact, maintain close relationships within the expert Engineer community.
Knowledge of Fire and Gas Design for Detection and or suppression of fire is an advantage.Key Activities and Responsibilities
  • Thorough understanding of all aspects of mechanical cooling systems for IT/Data Centers/Ehouse and telecommunication networks, key components, and applications
  • Solid understanding of Data Center/Ehouse fundamentals - specifically data center power, power distribution, cooling and/or DCIM software and/or IT/OT Networks
  • Experience in the production of design documentation & its associated process review.
  • Understanding and experienced in project's business and environment.
  • Relentless attitude and desire to win and be a self-starter.
  • Experience in maintaining relation at end user level for 3- 4 year.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
  • Comprehensive understanding of Power Systems / IT products and services
  • Leadership - demonstrated ability to positively influence the actions and opinions of others and exhibit judgment in leading others to company objectives.
  • Team Building - ability to mentor and build high morale and group commitment to established goals and objectives.
  • Organization and Planning - essential to organize people or tasks efficiently towards achieving specified goals, able to define and prioritize specific goals and objectives.
  • Creative and analytical - ability to think both analytically and creatively to identify and solve problems.
Commercial responsibilities:
-In coordination with the TL and PM, participates in meetings with customers to clarify their needs; identifies technical limits; obtains approvals
-Able to create quotation tools for calculations/studies
-Tracks costs and improves profitability of the calculations/studies, considering the cost of both engineering and site travelling if commissioning is engaged
Responsibilities in terms of Quality:
-Is responsible for the quality of his/her studies and for the associated documentation.
-Implements the Quality policy and improves the level of customer satisfaction
- Respect and follow SE HSE Standards and rules
Qualifications - External
Education qualification and Experience:
  • Master's/Bachelor degree in University or similar qualification in Mechanical Engineering / Fluid Mechanics or equivalent
  • English language fluent mandatory
  • Minimum 5 years of experience Designing HVAC or Cooling System solution for E-houses or Datacenter (Chilled water supply, in-room, in Row, Rack cooling solution)
  • Confirmed experience performing Calculation of thermal loads, performing Cooling equipment selection and Computational fluid dynamic simulation
  • Experience in any competitor range of HVAC/Cooling system is an advantage
  • Confirmed experience writing FAT/SAT Test protocols and IOM Manuals
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% in APAC Region
