Description:
CTG is seeking to fill an Application Consultant - Mainframe Modernization position for our client.
Location: Remote
Duration: 12 months
Duties:
Design, develop, test, and implement COBOL-based programs for banking applications.
Analyze and debug existing COBOL programs to resolve production issues and enhance functionality.
Write and maintain efficient JCL scripts for batch job execution and workflow automation.
Develop and optimize complex SQL queries and DB2 database procedures to support application logic and reporting.
Participate in code reviews, system integration testing, and performance tuning.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including business analysts, QA, and infrastructure teams to ensure successful delivery of modernization projects.
Skills:
Proficiency in COBOL, JCL, and DB2 development.
Strong understanding of mainframe modernization concepts and migration methodologies.
Experience with performance tuning, debugging, and root cause analysis.
Familiarity with banking or financial services applications preferred.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Experience:
7+ years of hands-on experience in mainframe application development and modernization.
Experience supporting large-scale enterprise applications in production environments.
Prior experience in modernization initiatives (e.g., rehosting, replatforming, or reengineering mainframe systems) is a plus.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $50.00 to $120.00/hour. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained.
