Role Summary:
As an AWS L2 Support Engineer at a leading Cloud Service Provider (CSP), you will provision, implement, manage, and troubleshoot complex cloud infrastructure and services for enterprise clients across industries. You will work on federated and hybrid cloud environments, including AWS, Azure, GCP, and on-premises Outposts. The role demands strong cross-functional expertise in infrastructure, security, networking, and cloud governance.
Key Responsibilities:
Infrastructure & Provisioning
Provision and configure cloud resources (EC2, RDS, S3, EKS, VPCs, etc.) using AWS Console, CLI, or IaC tools.
Implement hybrid setups including AWS Outposts, Direct Connect, and VPN solutions.
Support container-based workloads (Docker, ECS, EKS) and serverless applications (Lambda, API Gateway).
Security & Compliance
Configure IAM roles, policies, and federated identity providers (SSO/SAML integration).
Monitor and remediate security vulnerabilities (using AWS Config, GuardDuty, Inspector).
Ensure adherence to compliance standards (ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR, etc.) across cloud environments.
Networking & Connectivity
Troubleshoot VPC, subnets, NAT gateways, transit gateways, route tables, and firewall rules.
Manage inter-cloud (AWS-Azure-GCP) and on-prem connectivity (VPN/Direct Connect/Transit VPC).
Work on DNS configurations, load balancers (ALB/NLB), and CDN (CloudFront).
Multi-Cloud & Federated Operations
Support federated identity and access management across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
Assist in the deployment and integration of services across multi-cloud or hybrid environments.
Monitor workloads across multiple CSPs using common dashboards and tools (e.g., Grafana, Datadog, Prometheus, CloudWatch).
Support & Troubleshooting
Handle L2 escalations related to infrastructure availability, performance, or configuration errors.
Collaborate with L3 and DevOps teams for deeper issues or design changes.
Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and maintain documentation/runbooks.
Automation & Optimization
Automate recurring operational tasks using Shell, Python, or PowerShell scripts.
Deploy and manage infrastructure using CloudFormation, Terraform, or Ansible.
Optimize cost and performance based on usage patterns and monitoring insights.
Required Skills:Strong hands-on experience with AWS core services (EC2, IAM, VPC, RDS, S3, Lambda, CloudTrail, CloudWatch).
Good understanding of hybrid/multi-cloud architectures (AWS, Azure, GCP).
Solid knowledge of networking concepts: TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, BGP, Load Balancing.
Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation tools.
Linux/Windows system administration and shell scripting proficiency.
Familiarity with AWS Outposts, Direct Connect, and on-prem integration.
Strong grasp of cloud security and identity federation (SSO, IAM, OIDC, SAML).
Preferred Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, or a related field.
A Master's degree is a plus.

Ability to work in a 24x7 shift-based or on-call rotation
