• Development and automated testing of in-house software products
• Participate in the Agile SCRUM process to ensure software deliverables meets business requirements
• Work with and mentor more-junior members of the development team
• Assist in the management of an Enterprise Backlog by providing expert technical knowledge
• Define best coding practices and help ensure these are adhered to via code-reviews
• Be prepared to be an active member of an Agile team and assist other areas when required
• Ensure code to meet quality standards (through Checklists) and coveragea, as measured by code reviews & unit tests(at 90%), Sonar Static code analysis and/or QA reports
• 100% adoption of std. DevOps tools including code quality instrumentation tool and ensuring Top code quality rating

What will you be doing?

Providing Leadership10%

• To provide mentoring to more-junior members of the development team and wider IT community.

Software Development85%

• Hands on development working in an Agile SCRUM team
• Responsible for full life cycle development and deployment
• Maintain and manage Source Control and Continuous Integration environment
• Participate with Solutions / Application architecture and design
• Provide development estimates as part of the Agile SCRUM team

Risk and Control Objective5%

• Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Barclays Operational Risk Framework and internal Barclays Policies and Standards.

What weaAEURA(TM)re looking for:

• Object-oriented programming
• Microsoft .NET (.Net Framework & .Net Core)
• ASP.NET Core / ASP.NET Web API
• C# (strong in Entity Framework, LINQ, Asynchronous Programing etc.)
• MS SQL Server 2012
• Unit Testing (NUnit / MSTest / MOQ)
• Spec Testing (BDD SpecFlow)
• Source Control Management using Git
• Good understanding of Microservices Architecture, PaaS and / or Cloud hosting and deployment options
• Able to mentor more junior team members in good agile development practices
• Deep understanding and application of good software design principles and patterns
• Good understanding of how Dev Ops / CI / CD principles and practices can be used to ever increase speed to market and quality
• Engineer Graduate with Strong hands on experience in .Net/C#, TDD/BDD, unit testing & continuous integration
• Very Good soft skills around Interpersonal , Communication and presentation Skills

Skills that will help you in the role:

• Familiarity with a variety of architectural patterns and approaches
• Test automation (functional with Gherkin/SpecFlow, Selenium, performance, etc.)
• Solutions / Application architecture and design
• DevOps activities (e.g. virtualization, build/deploy scripts and tools, etc.)
• Experience in Amazon Web Services or any other Cloud Computing Platform
• Modern web development (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, TypeScript, JQuery, AngularJS, Knockout.js, etc.)
• NoSql databases (e.g. cloud storage, MongoDB, Couchbase)
• Knowledge of Team Foundation Server (TFS), IIS, SonarQube
• Any certification on core development areas
• Financing/Loans Domain
