Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced

API Management Consultant

with a minimum of

5 years of hands-on experience

in managing API Gateways such as

APIGEE, Layer 7, Akana, or MuleSoft

. The ideal candidate will have

at least 2 years of experience specifically with APIGEE

, including installation, management, migration, and support in

AWS or On-Premise environments

. The role demands strong technical knowledge of API platforms, migration strategies, and operational support processes to ensure high availability and performance of API services.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

Install, configure, and manage

APIGEE

platforms on

AWS or On-Premise

infrastructure. Handle

incident management

for production and non-production environments and ensure resolution within defined

SLAs

. Create, configure, and manage

API proxies

, policies, products, and developer portals. Migrate APIs from other gateways (e.g.,

Layer 7

,

Akana

,

MuleSoft

) to APIGEE or between platforms as needed. Monitor API performance, diagnose issues, and implement fixes or improvements proactively. Work closely with DevOps, Cloud, and Development teams to support API lifecycle activities. Ensure compliance with security policies and implement API security best practices (OAuth2.0, API keys, JWT). Document configuration, architecture decisions, and standard operating procedures.

Mandatory Skills:

5+ years

of experience in

API Management

using

APIGEE, Layer 7, Akana, or MuleSoft

.

Minimum 2 years

of solid experience with

APIGEE

(Edge or X). Experience in deploying and managing APIs in

AWS and/or On-Prem environments

. Strong troubleshooting skills and incident management experience. Experience in API gateway migrations and integration projects.

Preferred/Good-to-Have Skills:

Knowledge of scripting languages for automation (e.g., Shell, Python). Understanding of API security protocols like OAuth, JWT, and mutual TLS. Exposure to CI/CD practices for API deployment. Familiarity with monitoring tools and logging systems (e.g., Splunk, ELK).
