Job Purpose and Impact
Client's APAC (Asia-Pacific) Engineering Discipline Center is a team of Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) that help drive standardization and value in Capital Execution across a multi-billion project portfolio. As a member of the APAC Engineering Discipline Center, you will collaborate with APAC Capital Capability Center and build project teams to ensure a fit for purpose Engineering Design and to ensure value engineering methodology is implemented in the projects.
Additionally, you will work with fellow discipline engineering Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to ensure that Client's minimum engineering standards are met.
As the APAC Instrumentation Discipline Engineer, you will help develop, maintain, improve, and benchmark Client's Regional Engineering Standards in collaboration with the Global Reliability Excellence and Engineering team.
The APAC Instrumentation Discipline Engineer will advise and provide overall governance on standards, application, gaps, solutions, and measurements to increase production quality, efficiency, and volume for the business. In this role, you will provide broad and in-depth knowledge to consult on activities related to instrumentation engineering to enable strategic growth projects and improve our capabilities by providing engineering leadership for the organization.
Key Accountabilities
Responsible for the regional instrumentation standards development in alignment with regulatory and Client functional/business requirements.
Support the development and governance of the regional instrumentation technical strategy, sourcing strategy and roadmap aligned to business requirements to achieve high maturity of Autonomous Operations.
Ensure the designs are fit for purpose, balancing the risks and costs and incorporate value engineering methodology and mindset into reviewing designs.
Review engineering deliverables (by phase) and validate scope-of-work, drawings, BID packages to ensure it is coming back according to the design and flag remarks for the technical reviews.
Ensure compliance of instrumentation engineering standards, policies, procedures, and job aids in capital projects with regulatory standards and alignment with global, regional and industry standards and Client's engineering standards.
Oversee advanced support for instrumentation engineering deliverables in capital projects.
Consolidate overall analysis and proposing recommendations in areas of improvement and implement solutions to improve performance and identify acceptable risk tolerance in close collaboration with Global and other Regional Capability Centers on continuous improvement.
Lead the development and improvement of metrics, reporting mechanisms and processes to ensure effective performance, compliance, and asset integrity of instrumentation solutions to meet business needs.
Collaborate, coordinate, and promote instrumentation engineering programs and policies regionally.
Lead the development of regional and support global service level agreements for instrumentation engineering to meet business requirements.
Provide instrumentation engineering support required for normal operations.
Provide expert thought leadership in your field and work with limited direction, using additional research and interpretation to identify issues or problems. You may provide direction to supporting team members and be a strategic contributor.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, instrumentation engineering or related field.
Minimum of 10 years of related work experience.
Ability to travel 30% of the time in the APAC region, if required.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience with codes and standards such as IEC, EN, ISO, NEN and PIP (Process Industry Practices)
Strong knowledge in plant operations related to instrumentation systems with specific knowledge and experience in Basis of Design (BoD), SIL, Safety Loops, inline analytics, valve-design and other instruments related to Flow, Pressure, Temperature and more.
Frequent interaction with senior internal and external personnel often requiring coordination between departments.
Technical gap assessment and solution identification.
Ability to translate highly technical information across all levels of technical knowledge.
