Job Description

Job Summary
The role requires the candidate to have processing capabilities for various corporate actions, including:
o Corporate Action announcements and related tasks
o Processing client instructions for voluntary/proxy events
o Processing benefit collections
The ideal candidate will have a sound understanding of the corporate actions and be able to efficiently process them.
Key Responsibilities
To assist the Section head and ensure timely and accurate processing and reporting of following transactions / activities

  • Tracking of Corporate Action announcements for Equity and Debt securities through Vendor Feeds, Exchange websites, Depositories Circulars, Company notices/offer documents, Newspapers etc
  • Recording and reporting of Corporate Actions Announcements to clients and internal stakeholders
  • Tracking and Processing of regional custody corporate actions.
  • Follow-up, reporting, collection and processing of Corporate Actions Benefits on Equity and Debt Securities
  • Execution of Cash and Securities entitlements in clients' beneficiary accounts
  • Processing of client instructions for IPOs, QIP, Voluntary Corporate Actions including PUT/CALL options and FDI/FVCI Deals
  • Tracking and processing of Proxy events viz. follow-up for agendas/annual reports, execution of proxy instructions, reporting of meeting updates.
  • Processing of securities for registration, demat / remat and inward
  • To revert to all the queries received from the clients.
  • Assist Team Leader/Section Head in any other adhoc assignments
Processes
  • Responsible for accurate execution of day-to-day BAU operations of corporate action processing, timely reporting to clients and internal stakeholders. Must ensure all the laid down controls, procedures and regulatory requirements are followed and achieve established targeted standards of productivity.
Risk Management
  • Responsible for timely highlighting/ escalating issues, reporting of exceptions and operational challenges, high volumes in assigned BAU operations to Team Leader / Line Manager.
Regulatory & Business Conduct
  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group's Values and Code of Conduct.
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank.   • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.
  • Serve as a Director of the Board
  • Exercise authorities delegated by the Board of Directors and act in accordance with Articles of Association (or equivalent)
Key stakeholders
  • Functional Officers / Managers - Operational matters
  • Tech Teams - System related matters
  • Ops Review / QA Team - Reconciliations / Audit submissions
  • Client Services Team - Client queries / updates
  • RTAs / Issuers / Vendors - Corporate Action operational matters
  • Depositories / Exchanges / Lead Managers - Information on securities and corporate action offerings
Other Responsibilities
  • To perform any job or task resulting from any exigencies as well as those which may be assigned by Team Leader / Line Manager.
Skills and Experience
  • Knowledge on capital market
  • Awareness of exchange and depository operations
  • MS office applications
Qualifications
Graduate of any stream.
Should have
  • 2 to 3 years of experience in custody operations/capital markets
  • Sound knowledge of Custody operations especially securities market practices in trading and corporate action events.
  • Awareness of exchange and depository operations
  • Sound knowledge of SWIFT Messaging
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, to deal with counterparties/companies/registrars
  • Analytical ability
  • working knowledge of MS office applications
