Job Description

A Fire Fighting AMC (Annual Maintenance Contract) Technician is responsible for the routine inspection, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing of fire safety systems to ensure they function correctly and meet compliance standards. They maintain equipment like sprinklers, fire alarms, extinguishers, and pump systems, performing tasks such as pressure testing, cleaning sensors, and replacing faulty components.

Key Responsibilities:

Preventive Maintenance:

Plan and execute regular service visits to inspect fire hydrants, sprinkler systems, gas suppression systems, and alarm panels.

Emergency Response:

Attend to emergency breakdown calls, diagnosing and repairing faults in fire suppression and detection equipment.

Testing & Compliance:

Perform functional tests on equipment, such as pump testing, pressure checks, and checking solenoid functionality for, to ensure compliance with safety standards.

Documentation:

Maintain accurate service records, checklists, and reports for all maintenance work performed.

Client Coordination:

Communicate with clients regarding service visits, system status, and necessary repairs.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Education:

ITI or Diploma in Fire & Safety or a related field.

Experience:

Usually 1-3 years of experience in maintenance of fire alarm/firefighting systems.

Technical Knowledge:

Understanding of fire safety codes, regulations, and various fire detection/suppression equipment.

Troubleshooting:

Strong ability to diagnose system faults.
