We are seeking a detail-oriented and creative

Anime Manga Editor - Paraphrasing Specialist

to join our editorial team. In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing, editing, and paraphrasing anime and manga content to ensure clarity, originality, and localization accuracy while preserving the essence of the original material. This position is ideal for individuals with strong language skills, a passion for anime and manga culture, and a deep understanding of Japanese storytelling.

Key Responsibilities

Edit and paraphrase translated anime and manga scripts to enhance readability and localization. Maintain the original tone, style, and intent of the source material while rephrasing for target audiences. Ensure cultural sensitivity, linguistic accuracy, and appropriate language for target demographics. Collaborate with translators, writers, and project managers to align on tone, terminology, and delivery. Review and revise scripts for grammar, consistency, flow, and coherence. Track revisions and maintain version control across multiple projects. Conduct light research on characters, settings, or cultural references to ensure accuracy. Adapt content for various platforms (print, digital, social media) as needed.

Requirements

Proven experience in editing, paraphrasing, writing, or localization--preferably in the anime/manga or entertainment industry. Excellent command of written English (or target language). Familiarity with Japanese culture, slang, idioms, and storytelling structures. Ability to rewrite or paraphrase while maintaining the core meaning and emotional impact. Detail-oriented with strong time management and organizational skills. Proficiency in editing tools (e.g., Google Docs, MS Word, CAT tools, or other editorial software).

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of Japanese language (reading proficiency preferred). Passionate about anime and manga with a broad knowledge of popular series and genres. Experience with localization or fan-sub editing is a plus.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
