About the Role

We are seeking an accomplished

Android Lead Engineer

to drive end-to-end technical excellence across our mobile platforms. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional who combines deep Android expertise, strong architectural ownership, and engineering leadership to build and scale high-impact mobile products.

You will act as both a hands-on technical leader and a strategic partner to product, design, and backend teams--owning the mobile roadmap, architecture decisions, and delivery quality.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership & Architecture

Lead the design, development, and evolution of complex Android applications. Define, enforce, and continuously evolve architecture standards including

MVVM, MVI, and Clean Architecture

. Establish best practices for

code quality, modularization, testability, and reusability

. Drive architectural decisions around

scalability, security, performance, and reliability

.

Team Leadership & Collaboration

Lead and mentor Android engineering teams through code reviews, design discussions, and technical guidance. Partner closely with

product managers, designers, and backend engineers

to deliver cohesive product experiences. Own sprint planning, effort estimation, and Agile ceremonies with strong accountability.

Engineering & Delivery Excellence

Oversee complete release cycles, ensuring high-quality deliverables and production stability. Drive

CI/CD integration

, automation strategies, and release best practices. Diagnose and resolve complex issues including

performance bottlenecks, memory leaks, ANRs, and crash patterns

. Ensure adherence to

mobile security standards

, API efficiency, and optimized network interactions. Champion continuous improvement through innovation, tooling upgrades, and process refinement.

Required Skills & Experience

8-12 years

of advanced, hands-on Android development experience. Expert-level proficiency in

Kotlin

,

Android SDK

, and

Jetpack Components

(ViewModel, LiveData, Room, Navigation). Strong command of modern Android architectures:

MVVM, MVI, Clean Architecture

. Proven experience integrating

REST APIs

, Retrofit, JSON parsing, offline storage, and caching strategies. Strong exposure to

dependency injection frameworks

(Hilt, Dagger, or Koin). Hands-on experience with

CI/CD pipelines

(GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Bitrise, or similar). Deep understanding of

performance tuning, crash analysis

, and analytics tools such as Firebase Crashlytics. Ability to influence design decisions, guide cross-functional teams, and deliver scalable mobile solutions. Excellent communication, leadership, and decision-making skills.
