Key responsibilities
Machine setup and operation: Set up and operate ANCA CNC 5-axis grinding centers.
Programming: Program the machines, often using specific ANCA software, to create different types of tooling like endmills, drills, and form tools.
Blueprint interpretation: Accurately read and interpret technical drawings and specifications to ensure correct tool geometry and dimensions.
Quality control: Inspect finished cutting tools for defects using visual inspection and measurement tools like micrometers and calipers.
Maintenance: Perform basic maintenance on the machines to ensure they are functioning correctly.
Material handling: Pull raw material for upcoming jobs.
Required skills and qualifications
Education: A diploma in Mechanical Engineering (DME), Bachelor of Engineering (BE), or an ITI certificate is often required.
Experience: Previous experience operating CNC grinding machines is highly preferred. Experience with specific ANCA models (e.g., MX5, MX7, FX5) is beneficial.
Software proficiency: Experience with ANCA tool room software and general CNC programming is necessary.
Technical knowledge: Strong understanding of CNC machining processes and the properties of the materials being worked with.
