Looking for Data Modelling Analyst(Expert level in Power Bi & SQL)-Base Location Delhi NCR(WFH for now)
Job Title: Sr. Data MI/Modelling Analyst
Job Summary
The candidate will provide technical expertise in analysis, design, development, rollout and maintenance of data modelling, reporting & integration initiatives. This role will contribute to implementation of methodologies and best practices, as well as work on project teams to synthesize different sources of data into a single source whilst conducting data quality checks.
Work with stakeholders to identify and define self-service analytic solutions, dashboards, actionable enterprise business intelligence reports. Responsible for deploying repeatable, lean and maintainable enterprise coding and documentation philosophy.
Role Overview:
- Emphasis is on providing business insights and managing end to end project delivery
- Structure analytical solution to address business objectives and problem solving
- Translate stated or implied client needs into researchable hypotheses.
- Develop sophisticated analysis plans to test those hypotheses given data and resource availability, time, etc.
- Effectively guide the team around problem structuring and use of analytics (tools and techniques) to carry out analysis
- Develop long-lasting, trusted advisor relationships with clients
- Able to work in dual shore engagement across multiple time zones
- Manage business uncertainty
- Secure new opportunities within existing account relationship
- Assess customer needs, pain points, behaviors, activation levers, headroom for growth, value propositions, etc.
- Manage day-to-day project operations, serve as the functional and domain expert on the project team to ensure that they meet client expectations
Responsibilities:
- Provide a consultative approach with business users, asking questions to understand the business need and derive the data flow, conceptual, logical, and physical data models based on those needs
- Identify, design and implement a reporting user experience that is consistent and intuitive across environments & reporting methods
- Develop visual reports, dashboards and KPI scorecards using Power BI desktop (preferred)
- Connect Power BI tool to different data sources, import data and transform data to fulfill user and reporting requirements
- Proficient in creating complex DAX queries, Data Modelling, SQL, SSRS
- Implement row level security on data and have an understanding of application security layer models in Power BI, develop tabular/multidimensional models that are compatible with warehouse standards using M-Query
- Adept in developing, publishing and scheduling Power BI reports and to visualize various trends as per the business requirements
- Identify business reporting and analytic needs by collaborating with end users, stakeholders and technology teams.
- Contribute to business intelligence competency best practices and implementation methodologies.
Candidate Profile:
- Bachelor's/Master's degree in computer science/engineering, operations research or related analytics areas; candidates with BA/BS degrees in the same fields from the top tier academic institutions are also welcome to apply
- Strong understanding of data integration & validation best practices and concepts
- Experienced with major data visualisation tools (examples: Power BI/Tableau, etc.) and database platforms (e.g. SQL Server, SQL Data Warehouse, etc.)
- Development experience in decision support / business intelligence environments utilizing tools such as SQL Server Integration and Reporting Services, Power BI, VBA, Business Objects etc.
- Insurance Industry knowledge preferred
- 1.5-5 years' relevant experience preferably in analytics
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Able to excel in a fast-paced, agile environment where critical thinking and strong problem solving skills are required for success
- Is able to understand cross cultural differences and can work with clients across the globe
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Ability to analyse business requirements as they relate to the data movement and transformation processes, research, evaluation and recommendation of alternative solutions
- Ability to transform business requirements into technical requirement documents
- Proficiency in M language, DAX, Power BI and analytics using SQL
- Demonstrates ability to create new and innovative solutions to problems that have previously not been encountered
- Ability to work independently on projects as well as collaborate effectively across teams
- Good understanding of Databases, Power BI Data modelling and technical documentation
- Strong team building, interpersonal, analytical, problem identification and resolution skills
- Can effectively utilise SQL and available BI tool to validate/elaborate business rules
- Demonstrates an understanding of EDM architectures and applies this knowledge in collaborating with the team to design effective solutions to business problems/issues
- Deals effectively with all team members and builds strong working relationships/rapport with them.
Currently, work from home but Base Location is Delhi NCR
