The Finance Data Science & Analytics group sits within the Corporate Planning & Analysis organization at American Express. We’re a crew of highly-trained data scientists and Finance professionals whose vision is to be the analytical powerhouse driving growth for the enterprise by empowering smarter, profitable, real-time decisions. We work to transform the way data science credibly drives sustainable, long-term growth for the company as early adopters of next-generation technology. We re-invent forecasting, tracking and analytical processes, leveraging the latest tools and setting the standard for advanced analytics.
Our team is now looking for a full-time Analyst to support 2 members of the Finance Data Science & Analytics leadership team. This role will be based in Gurgaon, India and is a flexible hybrid role, splitting time each week between working virtually and on-site at the Amex Building.

Responsibilities include:
Work in a team of highly talented individuals to:
Develop predictive modeling that incorporates behaviors and increased level of data granularity
Use machine learning techniques to improve forecasts and produce business insights; leverage visualization and reporting tools
Partner across Finance, Risk and Business to derive strategic insights, provide thought leadership into key findings and actionable recommendations to influence business strategy
Understand and adopt emerging technology that can affect the application of the quantitative analytical approaches and technique
Minimum Qualifications
Work Experience of 1-5 years
Significant hands-on experience managing/ leading projects using large amounts of data and application of advanced predictive analytics
Proficiency in SQL, SAS, Hive, Python, R, Machine Learning Techniques
Tableau or other visualization tools experience is strongly preferred
BS/MS or PhD in a quantitative field - Applied Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science
Skills:
Highly motivated individual with desire to work on ambiguous projects, with the ability to break down and execute on complex ideas
Be data-driven, outcome-focused and fast learner
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with good attention to detail
Ability to influence people across all levels of the organization
Ability to explain complex mathematical concepts
Ability to solve ad-hoc business problems independently and manage multiple priorities and projects while adhering to deadlines
