About Sattva Knowledge Institute Sattva Knowledge Institute (SKI), established in 2022, is our official knowledge platform at Sattva. The SKI platform aims to guide investment decisions for impact, shedding light on urgent problems and high-potential solutions so that stakeholders can build greater awareness and a bias towards concerted action. We focus on offering solutions over symptoms, carefully curating strong evidence-based research, and engaging decision-makers actively with our insights. Overall, SKI aims to shift intent and action toward greater impact by influencing leaders with knowledge. All our content proactively leverages the capabilities, experience and proprietary data across Sattva. The Opportunity India is experiencing a major employment shift out of agriculture, affecting the livelihoods of millions of people. This shift parallels substantial urban growth in hitherto rural regions but with few new local livelihood opportunities. Further, the economy is standing at an inflection point with demographic dividend and growth, however decent employment prevails as a challenge. For India\'s transformation to be inclusive and effective, there is need for targeted efforts to address long existing structural challenges and reduce demand supply challenge. As the economy undergoes reforms such as digital transformation, formalisation it is imperative to understand and facilitate livelihood models and job creation for 90% of our workforce which is operating in informal economy. There is also a need to understand how philanthropy can play a catalytic role in enabling collaboration with the mainstream markets to create decent employment and more opportunities for informal workforce/ enterprises. You will be part of the Livelihoods team of the Sattva Knowledge Institute where we aim to draw from Sattva\'s decade-long experience of working in Livelihoods space, coupled with research-driven insights to influence, shift intent and align different types of philanthropic capital towards key developmental gaps in India, and enable innovative solutions. This entails working with internal and external stakeholders on enabling systems through knowledge, and dissemination. The focus will be on research, writing reports, primers, opinion articles, along with strong planning, strategic operationalisation, governance, on-time, and quality delivery across all tracks. Rigorous research in the form of primary data collection & secondary data analysis forms the foundation of our insights, and knowledge products. The Livelihoods team is currently focussing on 3 key areas: Women Economic Empowerment: Our goal is to increase women workforce participation by enabling systemic shifts and strengthening agency of women workforce to effectively participate in the markets Informal Economy: Our focus here is to define strategies to enable inclusive growth amidst the transformative changes in the economy and increase the income of the informal workforce. We are working towards strengthening the use case of digitisation, structural changes for better participation of the workforce in the economy Migrant Workers: Our goal is to enable decent livelihoods, recognition of prior learning and social security for migrant workers. The role not only explores deep research but gives exposure to take your research to a broader audience, engage the ecosystem, influence leaders and work with the team to develop investable ideas for the philanthropic ecosystem, thereby closing the loop from imagination, validation and action. The analyst will be responsible for three major work tracks: Develop and lead end-to-end knowledge properties (KP) for the practice (60%) Conducting rigorous secondary and primary research to uncover the insights Structuring and performing analysis, synthesising the information to write critical insights, forming new understanding and voice Support in identifying and developing key topics to signal the ecosystem with the knowledge outputs Lead developing ideas, insights and research pieces through strong writing in long format, develop PPT presentation with diagrams and representations of ideas. Package the knowledge for consumption by the audience, and ensure wide reach of the KPs (20%) Support communications team with proofreading and quality control of the knowledge properties Support the Design team with the packaging of the KPs. Support communications team with publishing. Develop a strong social media presence on LinkedIn and Twitter by regularly reaching out to the ecosystem with knowledge outputs. Develop 2-3 recycle blog posts for external publications Support with developing Infographics for existing knowledge outputs Regularly guest posts on mainstream websites where Sattva has developed partnerships. Lead internal communications of KPs to Managers, leadership and client teams. Support in ecosystem engagement to develop influence, networks and action (20%) Support in curating online webinars of the KPs. Support in curating closed-door roundtables for deep engagement with ecosystem leaders Who we are looking for At Sattva, our goal is to realise the impact on the ground and to drive a collective win by engaging with multiple stakeholders. We are looking for individuals who align with our mission of alleviating poverty in our lifetime and have the following profile: 0 to 2 years of professional experience in either the role of knowledge, research, or consulting in impact investment, or strategy consulting, leading high-scale fund advisory projects, complex operations, implementing Livelihood programs on the ground MBA or equivalent postgraduate degree in business management Prior experience of working in the development sector in global/Indian contexts Demonstrate strong writing, articulation, research, communication, consulting, problem-solving, and insight-generation skills. Demonstrated ability to identify business issues, form hypotheses, design and conduct analyses, and synthesise conclusions into recommendations.
