Job Overview TE Connectivity\'s Trade Compliance Teams interpret laws, rules, and regulations regarding shipping and prepare applications for import/export control certifications and licenses. Assist in the planning, organization and implementation of trade compliance policies and procedures for TE AD&M India that ensures effective compliance to all applicable global trade regulatory requirements (both Indian and US related). Areas of knowledge include but are not limited to Indian Scomet jurisdiction & classification determination, Indian Customs Tariffs determination for both import and export, export licensing (applications and management), technology transfer management, third party / prohibited party screening, , technology control plans management, export documentation management, customs compliance management both for export and export activities (import and export customs clearances, post entry checks, approval of customs broker invoices, etc.) customs origin and valuation determination, and export controls & customs regulatory updates. Works directly with the business unit departments to implement and embed each element of the AD&M import/export compliance program. Responsibilities: Product Jurisdiction and Classification Determination . Assist in the jurisdiction and classification determination against the Indian Scomet when export control related and when customs related according to the Harmonized Tariff Schedule . Responsible for updating classifications when the Tariff schedule is updated. . Work with Engineering, Customer Service and Product Management on both HTS and ECCN product classification determinations. . Upload the classifications into Trade Automation. . Ensure the Jurisdiction and Classification Forms are kept recorded Export Documentation . Strong working knowledge of export documentation . Advise and assist company customer service and shipping personnel with export requirements . Advise and assist on all off-line export shipments . Manage the applications completion, submissions to the authorities and follow-up of the export licenses or export authorizations . Follow-up the blocked orders report and make sure blocks are regularly removed as soon as licenses have been granted Reporting to governmental authorities . Maintain reports as required by the Indian Export Control & Customs authorities . Proceed to the export license reporting as required by the Indian export control regulations . Keep the reports recorded and easily accessible in case of an audit Customs Brokers Management . Assist in the management of the customs brokers . Follow up required KPIs and follow-up customs brokers\' performances . Ensure the transit times comply with the required KPIs . Approve Customs Brokers invoice . Verify on a regular basis the accuracy of the customs clearances . Resolve discrepancies in documentation with suppliers. . Responsible for compliance with all applicable import regulations. . Policies and Procedures . Assist in the development and implementation of company international trade policies and procedures. . Assist in the development and implementation of a formal Internal Control Program (both exports and imports) . Provide technical advice and guidance relative to safeguarding of data related to controlled products, technology and services. Third party / Prohibited Party Screening Actively support the order/quotation screening process by assisting customers, sales force, proposals and customer service personnel. Assist in the development and implementation of an audit process for to ensure compliance with screening requirements. Global Metrics Reporting Responsible for extracting various trade compliance reports from SAP and other trade systems for the region and also on a global level for all regions. Consolidate reports and develop dashboards based on the requirement. Import Reconciliation Actively support in import reconciliation. Obtain the necessary documentation and conduct detailed analysis. Report to the country customs lead for the relevant customs entry amendment. Recordkeeping and Audit . Assist in ensuring that all regulatory and TE requirements are met . Provide reporting of compliance deployment initiatives . Assist in coordination and implementation of periodic audits of company records for compliance with applicable regulations Desired Candidate Profile: Any graduate (preferably MBA in international business) having relevant 2 to 3 years of trade compliance experience would be suitable for the role Relevant trade compliance experience of 2 to 3 years particularly in HTS and ECCN Classification, SCOMET licensing, customs compliance, import reconciliation, denied party screening, country of origin determination, free trade agreements, data analysis and metrics.
