Introduction:
Executes the day to day operational support for the MERLIN tool, a part of Planning & Stress Test Systems.
Understanding of Hyperion Planning with ability to support implementation of solutions to Business
Requirement. Support & monitor day to day system operations, Manage and operate all metadata / reference data updates, Change Coordination for defects/enhancements, provide a consistent approach in answering real time queries from senior management and to support business in data quality issues on multi planning scenarios and source data for Group Planning perspective.
This involves delivering smooth operations, managing key customers, achieving targeted business metrics and
ensuring compliance with the defined SLAs.
What will you be doing?
o Provide first point of contact for business user queries and change initiatives
o Responsible for preparing training plan and material for delivery online and face to face to business customers for MERLIN systems
o Gather end user business requirements for all applications and apply excellent business analysis for recommended systems solutions with limited or no line manager involvement
o Run the monthly system rollover and preparation processes of the MERLIN systems
o Operational monitoring of the data interaction between upstream and downstream systems and pre-emptively highlight/resolve any possible breaks
o Liaise with GFTS to ensure technical and functional alignment as per the clients' reporting needs
o Consult with Line Manager, Finance teams & business teams to ensure wider requirements are met and stakeholders agree timetable
o Maintain an oversight of the day to day MERLIN system development activities undertaken by GFTS to retain subject matter expertise
o Meet best practice control requirements for administration of the bank's Planning & Stress Test systems including: Change Control, Documentation of Business Requirements, SOX, operational risk and BCM strategy
o End to end change management including requirement analysis, change prioritisation & release planning
o Prepare monthly MI pack of MERLIN to discuss with stakeholders
o Prepare the MI on monthly basis according to the query assisted to the users
o Take initiatives on new application enhancements and liaise with the change team
o Manage the Access queries of the users
o Identify and discuss the issues with stakeholders
o Perform the testing of new functionality updated in tool
o Conduct the training session with the new users to update the tool functionality
What we're looking for:
o Graduate degree (Bachelors' in Commerce or equivalent)
o Minimum years of experience after graduation degree
o Knowledge of Financial Services in banking environment
o Excellent team player with the ability to also work independently when required.
o Proven ability to adapt to an evolving operating model and to actively participate in its development
o Should be able to handle multiple stakeholders effectively
o Proven ability to work under pressure and balance priorities to meet tight deadlines.
o Good Analytical and problem solving skills
o Intermediate level knowledge of any of the BI tools
o Hands on experience of Budgeting/Planning / forecasting / Workforce systems /Stress Testing
Skills that will help you in the role:
o Knowledge of accounting principles
o Budgeting, Planning & Forecasting knowledge and technical support role/experience will be an added advantage
o Understanding of organization hierarchical structure in SAP / Hyperion (Profit Centre, Cost Centre, SU, MU etc.)
o Understanding of Hyperion Planning, Essbase, Stress Testing and associated applications
o Should have excellent inter-personal and communication skills: strong verbal and written communication skills, able to clearly articulate complicated issues to management and other stakeholders.
o Additional desired skills are:
? Understanding of Barclays' products and businesses.
? Understanding of Risk, Finance or Treasury processes.
