Job Summary
This Analyst, Content Strategy role is focused on process engineering. The analyst is responsible for conducting in-depth and forensic analysis of the workflow processes that span across different teams. The primary objective of this role is to identify operational issues, incorrect process paths, missing tasks, bottlenecks, and inefficiencies within the workflow and collaborate with content and technology teams to implement process improvements.
The PE Analyst will investigate & understand the root causes of issues, to optimize operational effectiveness, follow the process of collating, triaging, & prioritizing issues. They will be the bridge between operations and tech, communicating and translating the ask across both teams based on their familiarity with the processes and practices on either side. They will also test and sign off on the resolution & work towards a robust solution.
Working within the PE team, and reporting to the PE Director, the PE Analyst will provide support in identifying automation opportunities and technologies to help Norstella to transform its Data Operations business and deliver significant automation to allow the business to scale efficiently using a data-driven approach. The PE team will connect with Data Operations, Data Science, Data Engineering and Product Management to automate complex or high-volume processes across authoring platforms.
Responsibilities
Understand end-to-end process of acquiring & authoring mastered data to curate valuable content that powers Norstella's industry-leading products.
Act as a subject matter expert on workflow processes, providing guidance and support to teams to ensure adherence to standard processes and best practices.
Develop and maintain process documentation, including workflows, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and guidelines, keeping the documentation accurate and up to date.
Analyze the end-to-end workflow process and identify issues, pain points, and inefficiencies affecting operational performance.
Conduct detailed forensic analysis to investigate the root causes of operational issues arising from the technical implementation, such as missing sources, incorrect task assignments, and other process breakdowns.
Study and discover process deficiencies and provide recommendations for workflow redesign, automation, tooling, and technology enhancements to streamline the workflow process. Deliver agreed implementation plans at pace to support data operations transformation.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data science/engineering, content operations, and change management teams, to develop, test and implement process fixes, and process improvements based on the findings from the analysis.
Monitor and track process performance metrics to measure the effectiveness of implemented improvements. Monitor to make sure the defects fixed do not reappear and process improvements made do not break or impact other parts of the workflow.
Qualification & Experience
Graduate/Post-Graduate/Doctorate degree in engineering, Science, or a related field.
Minimum 3 years of work experience in business research and secondary data analysis
Relevant certifications of the following tools are a plus:
Microsoft Visio, Lucidchart (Expert level)
Microsoft Excel (Expert level)
SharePoint (Expert level)
Project Management tools: JIRA, Monday.com, Confluence etc. (Expert level)
Data Analysis and Visualization: PowerBI, Tableau (Intermediate level)
Experience with automation tools such as PowerAutomate is desirable
Experience writing automation scripts using Python or other programming language.
Experience in developing and/or consuming APIs.
Website development experience or strong knowledge of web architecture.
Previous experience working in a data operations environment with colleagues in the US and UK is desirable.
Proven experience in analyzing and improving workflow processes, preferably in a cross-functional environment.
Experience defining and delivering transformative automation programs is desirable, including familiarity with working in process mapping for automation, participation in automation cycles, and actual writing of some or full process automation.
Motivated self-starter with strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to conduct forensic analysis and identify root causes of process issues. Ability to analyze and interpret data, identifying issues related to accuracy, completeness, consistency, etc.
Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines, working with a sense of urgency to deliver against the opportunity that awaits.
Excellent collaboration skills and evidence of working across different teams to resolve issues that cut across teams.
