:
1. Key Responsibilities
A. Clinical & Operational Management
Oversee day-to-day clinical operations of OPD, IPD, Emergency, ICU, OT and other medical units.
Ensure smooth coordination between doctors, nursing, paramedical, and administrative teams.
Support the Medical Superintendent in planning and implementing hospital policies and procedures.
Ensure adequate doctor availability through proper duty rosters and on-call schedules.
Monitor patient flow and reduce waiting time & turnaround time across patient touchpoints.
B. Quality Assurance & Compliance
Ensure adherence to NABH/NABL standards and hospital quality protocols.
Conduct audits, medical record reviews, and quality rounds.
Maintain compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements (MLC, biomedical waste, fire & safety).
Coordinate clinical committees like Infection Control, CPR, Morbidity & Mortality, etc.
C. Patient Care Oversight
Ensure high standards of patient safety and satisfaction.
Address patient grievances and escalations in coordination with the patient relations team.
Ensure proper documentation including consent forms, clinical notes, and MLC compliance.
Support in handling medico-legal cases and coordination with authorities when required.
D. Doctor Relations & Credentialing
Manage onboarding, credentialing, and privileging of consultants and clinical staff.
Facilitate communication between hospital management and medical staff.
Address concerns raised by doctors and ensure smooth working conditions for clinical teams.
E. Emergency & Crisis Management
Oversee emergency response processes, code blue/red drills, and disaster preparedness.
Ensure availability of emergency medicine, equipment, and resources.
Act as an administrative leader during critical situations or major incidents.
F. Training & Development
Support training programs for doctors, nursing, and paramedical teams.
Conduct CME programs, workshops, and drills (BLS/ACLS, infection control).
Promote continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
G. Reporting & Documentation
Prepare MIS reports for occupancy, census, ER cases, clinical outcomes, etc.
Report clinical incidents, sentinel events, and corrective actions.
Assist the Medical Superintendent with data analysis and decision-making inputs.
2. Required Skills & Competencies
Strong understanding of hospital operations and clinical processes.
Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.
Ability to handle high-pressure scenarios and medical emergencies.
Sound knowledge of healthcare laws, medical ethics, and NABH standards.
Problem-solving approach with strategic thinking.
Proficiency in MS Office and HIS systems.
3. Qualifications
MBBS/BDS/AYUSH doctor with MHA/MBA in Healthcare strongly preferred.
3-7 years of experience in hospital administration/medical administration roles.
Experience in a multi-specialty or tertiary care hospital desirable.
4. Work Conditions
May require rotational shifts depending on hospital policy.
Must be available during emergencies and peak operational hours.
