Position Title AM - Retail Design


A. JOB PURPOSE




The Designer is responsible for creating innovative retail environments that bring the Kohler brand to life. By blending design excellence with functional solutions, the role ensures that stores, studios, trade shows, and retail touchpoints deliver a consistent brand experience, align with distribution strategies, and provide a best-in-class customer journey.




B. PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES

Design expertise - For Customers and A&D Community




Strong ability to conceptualize and design retail environments that reflect brand identity and values.

Expertise in spatial planning, material selection, lighting, and visual merchandising to enhance customer experience.

Ability to translate brand guidelines into compelling retail formats -- from flagship stores and studios to trade shows and shop-in-shop displays.

Knowledge of retail design trends, customer behaviour, and innovative display solutions to keep the brand at the forefront of retail experiences.

Demonstrated ability to balance creative vision with practical execution -- from concept to on-site implementation.

Presentation- Lead Design presentations @EC



Develop and deliver compelling design presentations to internal stakeholders and external partners, clearly communicating concepts, layouts, and design intent Translate complex design solutions into visually engaging and easy-to-understand narratives.

Confidently present to senior leadership, cross-functional teams, and external agencies/vendors, influencing decision-making through strong storytelling and visualization.

Ensure all presentations align with brand guidelines and demonstrate best-in-class retail design standards.

Exhibit strong time management skills while able to accommodate interruptions and seamlessly integrate multiple projects simultaneously.

Luxury positioning - Strengthen the perception of brand Kohler as a luxury brand




Have an understanding of luxury market and showcasing the various facets of the brand that make it a luxury brand such as Heritage, craftsmanship, artistic value

Ensure all retail environments and displays reflect Kohler's premium and luxury positioning.

Translate brand values into elevated design expressions through materials, finishes, lighting, and spatial storytelling.

Design experiences that go beyond functionality, creating an emotional connection and a sense of exclusivity for customers.



Showcase trends/stories - To have knowledge of the prevailing design trends




Stay attuned to global luxury design trends to reinforce Kohler's stature as a leader in premium experiences.

Develop immersive displays and storytelling elements that inspire customers and reinforce Kohler's leadership in design.

Partner with marketing and product teams to translate new launches and brand campaigns into engaging spatial experiences.

Ensure trend adoption aligns with luxury positioning while staying relevant to customer aspirations.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE




EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS




Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Retail Design, or Exhibition Design from a recognized institution


RELEVANT EXPERIENCE




Proven experience (6-8 years) in retail design within premium or luxury brands, ideally in lifestyle, fashion, hospitality, or home/interior segments. Strong portfolio showcasing store design, studios, exhibitions, and trade show displays with a focus on luxury environments. Hands-on expertise in spatial planning, VM, lighting design, and material selection tailored to luxury aesthetics. Experience in collaborating with cross-functional teams (marketing, product, retail operations, vendors) to deliver end-to-end design solutions. Exposure to global retail formats and an understanding of international design trends that influence luxury retail.

SKILLSET




Proficiency in design software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, 3D Max, Illustrator, Photoshop) for developing layouts, renders, and presentations.
