Job Summary

Bastar Dairy Farm is seeking a

skilled and safety-focused Ammonia Operator

to manage and operate the

ammonia refrigeration system

used in milk chilling, cold storage, and processing operations. The role is critical in ensuring

uninterrupted cooling, plant safety, and compliance with statutory norms

in a dairy manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

Operate, monitor, and maintain

ammonia refrigeration systems

for milk chilling and cold storage. Ensure

safe handling, charging, and leakage control

of ammonia as per safety standards. Perform

daily checks

on compressors, condensers, evaporators, valves, and pipelines. Maintain

temperature, pressure, and operational logs

accurately. Coordinate with

maintenance and production teams

to ensure continuous plant operations. Respond promptly to

emergency situations

, including ammonia leakage or system failure. Ensure compliance with

Factory Act, Safety Regulations, and Pollution Control norms

. Support

preventive maintenance schedules

and shutdown activities. Maintain housekeeping and follow

5S and safety SOPs

at all times.

Required Skills & Qualifications

ITI / Diploma in

Refrigeration, Mechanical, or Electrical

(preferred).

2-5 years

of hands-on experience in ammonia refrigeration systems (Dairy / Food / Cold Storage industry preferred). Strong knowledge of

industrial ammonia compressors and safety systems

. Familiarity with

emergency handling procedures and PPE usage

. Ability to work in

rotational shifts

. Good coordination and basic documentation skills.

Preferred Experience

Experience in

Milk Dairy Plants, Cold Storage, or Food Processing Units

. Knowledge of

safety audits, mock drills, and statutory inspections

. Exposure to

PLC-based or automated refrigeration systems

is an advantage.
