Drive patients to and from hospitals, emergency scenes, or medical facilities safely and quickly.
Follow all traffic laws and EMS driving protocols, especially during emergencies.
Vehicle Maintenance & Readiness
Inspect the ambulance regularly to ensure it is in good working condition.
Check fuel, oil, tire pressure, lights, sirens, and medical equipment before and after shifts.
Report and address any mechanical issues immediately.
Assisting Medical Personnel
Help EMTs or paramedics load and unload patients using stretchers.
Provide non-medical support during emergency calls, such as lifting or calming patients.
Navigation & Route Planning
Use GPS or dispatch instructions to reach destinations efficiently.
Be familiar with the local area to avoid delays.
Communication & Reporting
Stay in constant contact with dispatchers and medical teams via radio or other communication systems.
Record trip details, such as patient condition, time of transport, and destination.
Safety & Compliance
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the ambulance.
Adhere to all healthcare, safety, and confidentiality regulations (e.g., HIPAA in the U.S.).
Wear appropriate uniforms and protective gear.
