Under broad supervision, works with cross-functional teams, including consumer research, R&D, and engineering, to compile and evaluate research on future product requirements and identify enhancements to current products. Helps product development team establish strategies ranging from product pricing, design, marketing, advertising, packaging, and future products to manage the product family's life. Role typically requires between 8 and 10 years of experience.

Key Responsibilities:

New Product Introduction (NPI) Planning & Execution

: Ensure the smooth transition of new products from design to production. Manage product costing, project cost reviews, ROI analysis, and initiate AFEs for specific investments. Identify and mitigate risks in the NPI process. Drive structured practices and stage-gate discipline in project management.

Product Engineering & Process optimization :

Oversee the product engineering lifecycle from concept through production, ensuring design feasibility and manufacturability. Continuously improve NPI and product engineering processes to enhance efficiency and reduce time-to-market. Analyse and enhance existing manufacturing processes to improve cost-effectiveness. Foster innovation and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Cross-functional Collaboration:

Facilitate effective communication and collaboration between product development, commercial, operation, quality assurance, regulatory and other relevant departments. Coordinate efforts to resolve production challenges and ensure alignment with project goals.

Product validation, Quality Assurance and compliance

: Partner with Research, Product testing lab ( Internal / External) & quality assurance teams to establish and maintain product testing and validation protocols. Coordinate communication with applied research team & customer on test protocols and results. Ensure compliance with industry standards and customer-specific requirements by coordinating with regulatory experts.

Resource & Team Management

: Manage and allocate resources to meet project objectives and timelines. Provide leadership, guidance and mentorship to team members. Promote teamwork, employee engagement and work life balance. Oversee budgets, expenditures, and purchases supporting product development function.

Documentation and Reporting

: Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of NPI and engineering processes. Coordinate development and release of prints, process flow diagrams & BOM's in the ERP system. Generate project & departmental reports highlighting key milestones, risks, and progress for management and stakeholders.

Safety Compliance

: Ensure manufacturing processes and raw materials used in any new products comply with health, safety & environmental policies and regulations. Identify potential safety hazards and implement measures to mitigate risk.

Strategic & Leadership Contributions:

Contribute to the overall technical strategy by integrating Voice of Customer insights into product roadmaps for the APAC region. Collaborate on the development of the 3-5 year technology roadmap to support business growth. Lead technical discussions with customers, ensuring early engagement in product and project execution while providing solutions and insights. Stay abreast of industry and technology trends in water filtration to guide innovation and competitiveness.
