The Role Responsibilities

Job Role

RRSD Unit faces the Group Risk Function with a peripheral support to CEO CIB Function. It handles wide spectrum of activities to support the Enterprise Risk Analytics, Traded Risk Management, Risk and Compliance Reporting teams of the Group Risk.

The unit is also currently expanding itself to support the CEO CIB Office with Credit Portfolio Management. Various sub-units underneath RRSD are listed below:

Market Risk Operations (MRO)

The team\'s activities include production and distribution of daily risk reports, monitoring of Market Risk Exposures against limits, where applicable at country, regional, global and group level for Rates, Commodities, Credit Trading, Equities, Convertible Bonds, Foreign Exchange, Foreign Exchange Options and XVA.

Maintain static data information in respective systems (VAST2 and partially in PCT) and Preparation and distribution of governance packs. To aid in infrastructure related changes/development including structural changes in EUCs which are used for generation of Daily / Weekly / Monthly / Quarterly risk reports.

In addition, the team prepares Capital, RNiVs and Group level VaR reports that are used for external and regulatory reporting.

  • Help to ensure appropriate BAU controls being established and deployed effectively in GBS.
  • Help to support new Business requests through Product programmes and Country addendums.
  • Help to look for possibilities of leveraging on synergy within the various processes through automation thereby bringing in improvements.

  • Help the team to pursue the strategic intent and agenda for RRSD.
  • Help to improve client experience through more efficient and effective processing in tandem with Risk, Client Coverage and Front Office users.

Risk and Reporting

MRO
  • Translate business requirements into Functional Specifications (FSDs), ensuring that developers and testers have a precise understanding of what is to be built and delivered. Review peer FSDs to help improve quality and to share knowledge within the team.
  • Working with Project Managers, ensure that questions of scope are addressed constructively and clearly with business stakeholders. Once scope boundaries have been established, ensure that any potential deviation from agreed scope is highlighted to the Project Manager in a timely manner.
  • Help ensure requirements documentation and development / delivery take place within the SCB Agile manifesto framework
  • In partnership with a dedicated testing team, ensure that all deliveries are fit for purpose, addressing business requirements in a timely, accurate and complete manner, with minimal defects or technical debt. The BA team contributes to test strategy, test plans, expected results (including reference models) and test coordination, as well as participating in the actual testing and diagnosing any defects that arise.
  • Train and support business users through acceptance testing, release preparation, go-live and the post-implementation period of each new delivery, assuring a smooth transition into BAU.
  • Ensure that knowledge is shared throughout the BA team so that team members can support each other and maintain continuity throughout the project (e.g. covering vacation absence). Senior team members will be asked to mentor less experienced members of the team. Share experience and knowledge across the Market Risk IT team and with the firm-wide BA community.
People and Talent
  • Compliance with all relevant process procedure, guidelines, rules and regulations.
  • To work and solve problems independently and be able to work in a deadline-oriented environment.
Risk Management
  • Embed new Operational Risk framework into monitoring processes and report any escalations to Management.
  • Monthly monitoring of CST and performance measurement of KCIs.
Governance
  • Work closely with Operational Excellence and Change management team members to understand key issues and processes and drive automation of processes.
  • Adherence to mandatory certifications and operational requirements.
Regulatory and Business Conduct

  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank.   • To hold assigned roles of First Aider / Fire Warden / ADCC as appropriate and discharge the expected responsibilities.
Our Ideal Candidate
  • Post-Graduation in Finance with relevant 3 years of experience.
General Skill Set
  • Experience in team admin tasks / cost controller / project accountant role with familiarity to SCB project management standards / tools would be a distinct advantage.
  • Awareness of trading environment, macroeconomic fundamentals, market moves and potential impact on exposures.
  • Significant Experience in major regulatory programs in the Risk / Finance, Banking industry - BCBS, IMM, CVA, etc.
  • Strong knowledge in banking products across asset classes (FX / Rates / Equity / Credit and Commodities).
  • Working knowledge of the Group\xe2\x80\x99s businesses, governance structure and approach to risk management.
  • Expertise in programming language is not required but good to have.
  • Strong knowledge in Data Analytics (Including ML capabilities).
  • Excellent communication skills - verbal and written.
  • Knowledge about Market and Credit Risk.
  • Working knowledge in MS Excel, Access.
  • Have excellent attention to detail.
  • Be able to work in a global team.
  • Experience in Agile framework.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Hands-on SQL, SAS, Python.
  • Documentation skills.
Certification
  • Risk Certifications from established institutions is recommended.
  • Any technical Certification in MS Office Advanced tools / SQL / Tableau / SAS / will be preferred.
  • FRM Certified candidates will be preferred.
